Pro Cycling

I really wanna like steephill but god that website is a fucking mess to look at, let alone navigate. The content is pretty good from what I’ve seen.
I’d say it is the best place to go, sometimes the only, to instantly find all of the best streaming options for most races.

Jens Voigt in the maillot jaune! HI-5!!

maybe try pez cycling news?
I’m a big fan of their site. Some nice photography, reporting (even if not the most up-to-date), reviews, attitude/POV, and especially their Toolbox column. Some good sports psychology stuff in there.

So, apparently Contador wasn’t too badly injured. His legs are “responding well”. Also, go Jens.

“If there’s a white jersey for younger riders, I think there should be a jersey for riders over 35. Call it the maillot gris.”
Speaking of Contador, anyone see him crash yesterday? Some d-bag of a cameraman shot footage of him getting towed back to the peloton by the rabobank team car which of course is blatantly illegal, but nobody wants to see one of the star riders crash out in the last 3km and fall out of contention. Oh, hey, look a rider falls in behind a team car, cut to fucking commercial or something, then “oh look, he just barely made it back to the peloton!”.
Lots of Contador haters out there, makes for good fuel I guess. I agree though, have some class.

I wanna win a maillot gris in a few years!

FYI - Tirreno-Adriatico is on Universal Sports

Yeah! I’m gonna be on that in about an hour!

edit: ddi you see the first day’s finish? It was weird, I think they have it on the US page. It was just kinda like, really? Damn.

Yeah. From some of the camera angles it looked pretty certain the breakaway would get caught. In fact it looked like they already were caught.

Considering that field was a who’s who of sprinting it was definitely strange.

Boonen kills it and Contador proves that even on a bad day, he’s still the strongest rider in the world. Glad to see his team could deliver him to the base of the climb properly.

I want Boonen to win every god damn classic this year, the Belgian kit is so sick and he’s one of the classiest riders ever.

I really hope he wins the prologue of the tour too…

I have to disagree. Granted Boonen has more class than this guy:

but that’s not saying much. Boonen is a strong guy but I would reserve the word “classy” to describe guys like Voigt, Haussler, Hushvod, or even Flecha.

HA^

Boonen’s win today was awesome and you could totally tell he had it for almost the entire last kilometer. Awesome.

and holy shit, how badass does Team Sky look? I will totally sport that kit if/when they release that stuff. So awesome.

Need I post his palmares? He has always raced with the utmost class and respect for the sport and other riders…

should I instead post some videos? 2005 Paris-roubaix… or anything from 2005…

Voigt: we all like him and he is impressive.
Haussler: strong rider… but only 15 wins… (Boonen has ~98, including: w/c, 3 p-r, 2 flanders, 6 tdf, etc)
Hushvod: Very strong tdf wins, second tier classics wins/performances.
Flecha: 1tdf win, a few decent classics performances… nothing amazing.

Wins do not simply equate to class. Roger Hammond has more class than Boonen.

Cipo and Zable both won around 200 races. Zable is a class act. I have love for Cipo but a classy rider no way.

Boonen crashes luxury cars and snorts coke like Paris Hilton. No class.

Learn to differentiate between the professional life and personal life.

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

That’s not class.
If we’re measuring class I’d say it has more to do with personal life than professional.

Cancellara is pretty classy atmo.

Let’s be real. Boonen is a rock star, not a class act. And that’s why we like him.
