HELL YEA JENS. sign me up for a “shup up legs” shirt.

American apparel, yeah? I have a few friends that are managers at a few stores here so I can get a decent price.

maybe try pez cycling news?

Paris-Nice: I’m rooting for Millar, Jens, or Horner… but expecting contador to run away with it.

greatest

Contador crashed. Levi crashed. Stage 1 was a fucking circus. Jens is placed well. Go Jens. Everyone knows that Contador is the strongest rider in the world, but his team was looking pretty shabby today trying to reel in the break.

“Of course there’s always a chance to win the tour, it’s always possible that five Astana guys could get attacked by a bear in the Pyrenees and we’d just be smoking to the finish.” - Jens Voigt

I bought a copy of this months Cycle Sport America magazine for the plane ride. It’s pretty good. They have a really good articleon Team Sky as well as a preview of the 2010 season. It kinda makes me want to subscribe.

Also, Svein Tuft did well. I’m rooting for him to have a good season.
HFY. Dude is from my city. I’ve raced in the same event as him (in a different cat, obviously.)

Henderson is looking good. Probably a more tactically savvy rider than Cav.

Voigt! The field looks harder than when he took 4th in 2005 and he is obviously much older but who knows… he’s shown in the past he has what it takes to win a week long tour. His form looks good and if he is free to ride for himself in the mountains he might stay close enough to the Sanchezes and Contador. Hell, Contador might not even line up tomorrow after today’s fall.

If Contador drops out I say Voigt goes from extreme longshot to legit contender. Without Contador to light it up the Sanchezs and Valverde may end up marking other enough to allow Voigt to never get dropped. Kreuziger might prove to be his biggest threat.

Horner, Vandevelde, Popovich, and Danielson are already completely out of the running and with Schleck over a minute down already he may play the role of domestique along with Larsson. Which might be enough firepower to overcome the Spanish.

Damn I wish this race was on Universal Sports!

Seriously, I hate following races through reports and short clips.

Speaking of Universal Sports, Milan San Remo next week!(ithink?)

yea its the 20th…saturday week

Levi still has the same time as Contador. I wonder if he has the form to contest in the hills. Also, was amazed by Lars Boom bridging the gap.

he definitely knew “the moment”. right after he bridged, they pretty much blew apart and kept it that way. i enjoyed jens yelling at the front to make people rotate through on pulls. kreuzinger is strong, but im not sure if he can climb with some of the others.

You can obviously see him waving at people to move up, but I think you could actually hear Jens yelling at people to take a pull in one of the highlight reels.

You’re neglecting the other scale of weather-hardiness, though – the Hushovd Index, used to tally which nationalities of rider are going to be wrapped in leg-warmers, jackets and long gloves while others ride along cheerfully in shorts:

HI1: Only the Spanish are in legwarmers
HI2: Italians are starting to look a bit chilly
HI3: French riders start to wrap up
HI4: The Belgians and Germans start to feel the cold
HI5: Even the Danes and Norwegians are starting to suffer a bit
HI6: Thor Hushovd puts on a light jacket.

lolled

my money is on the Vandenbroucke’s coked out zombie corpse

I really wanna like steephill but god that website is a fucking mess to look at, let alone navigate. The content is pretty good from what I’ve seen.

Yeah, it’s just an aggregator that works. It’s updated on a timely basis.

Paris-Nice was pretty uneventful today. Nice to see Sanchez contest the sprinters for the stage win and actually pick up a time bonus. Voigt is still in the mix. Read a lot of updates that said, “blah blah blah and Levi Leipheimer didn’t crash today”. I lol’d. Contador suggested in a tweet that his injury was causing problems with his pedal stroke. I hope he’s got his legs back by Thursday for the uphill finish in Mende. I’d really like to see some strong attacks.

Speaking of Contador, anyone see him crash yesterday? Some d-bag of a cameraman shot footage of him getting towed back to the peloton by the rabobank team car which of course is blatantly illegal, but nobody wants to see one of the star riders crash out in the last 3km and fall out of contention. Oh, hey, look a rider falls in behind a team car, cut to fucking commercial or something, then “oh look, he just barely made it back to the peloton!”.
