A fine day for TAF socks in the TDF.

Sagan: can I win the sprinter’s jersey by climbing well?
Universe:

What the hell is Bora doing? I don’t understand why they send dude after dude up the road like that. Sagz isn’t sprinting well enough this year to win without a little leadout.

I’m guessing the plan would have been to have Sagan leap frog over with Bennett in tow and then they could work as a team to drop Bennett. I guess Sagan was pretty unmotivated during the down time. Said he hates Zwift, etc.

well…on stage 14, at least, bennett was dropped for like the last 60k. it’s bora’s tactics in the last ~35k that make no sense. they still had schachmann and that other german dude making monster attacks and blowing up…that’s the part i don’t get.
the part where they drop bennett makes total sense though

I thought you were talking about the start of today

and is Richie Porte an immortal vampire?
Not judging of course.

He’s only 2 years older than Rigoberto. And still way younger than Alejandro.

But he has probably taken on extra blood. So yes?

Sup and I were laughing when Sagan was trying to just ride Bennett off his wheel off the front of the group well before the flat intermediate sprint

Overt brag: I’ve ridden >75% of today’s stage.
TC: Not in one ride. The thought of that blows my mind.

From the 2016 critérium du Dauphine finish just above Villard de Lans

Really stoked to see continued advances into the game by high altitude S. Americans.

Don’t forget high altitude N Americans. Pretty impressed to see American faces at the front.

Yeah, Sepp Kuss has been a machine for Jumbo Visma this year.

that climb was bananas. even with a 36-30 it would take me hours to get up there and i doubt i could do it without stopping multiple times.

You can do it. I witnessed my buddy’s 70 yo meatball shaped father climb Col de La Croix de Fer with no stops (1200m, max 12%).

No idea what gearing he had, but German so no doubt something sensible.
