I don’t like lumping enbies (&tc) in with female on that chart, but if RUSA lets people more-accurately list their sex that’s terrific.
(Though it was amusing when I last renewed my membership; About 3 days after renewing I got mail from the RUSA saying, effectively, “um, you put female down as your sex; was that intentional?”) I haven’t changed my name there yet, and I don’t know whether or not my subscription has lapsed or not, but it’s amusing to know that RUSA still has the deadname + proper sex collabo in their records.)
There are no rides, there are no riders. Not sure which came first.
A more normal non-PBP year has several more rides 200k-400k and at least a full series, sometimes 2.
As much as it’s an individual experience, it still feels terrible to go to a RUSA ride where only 1-2 other people show up. I DNS a 400k where I was to be 1 of 2 riders and actually haven’t been back since.
I still think fondly of the pirate 200k we did. More RUSA miles with less RUSA rules, though, like with races, it is nice to have someone else do the choosing of a route and weekend.
It stinks how few of the Atlanta brevets start near Atlanta.
So shove the start out towards the edge of the city (works better for east-side routes, though if you’re heading north/northwest a St Johns start gets you out of the city really fast and a springwater start/trolley trail return gets you off city streets really quickly); that’s what I did for people riding my out&back perms in the olden days.
