Say it ain't so: The Assploded Bike Parts Picture Thread.

Sure haven’t!

there was some triathlete we used to sponsor who would post videos of himself riding one of our stationary bikes and it literally looked like he had a gallon of sweat on the floor underneath him. it was insane.
i can’t imagine how much fluids he had to drink to stay hydrated.

I once weighed about nine pounds less after a hot yoga class than before it. large person + hot room + demon yoga teacher who loves making you hold chaturanga = full body waterfall

Yeah, how did this happen? Was it really JRA?

I “sprinted” from a stop across the two sets of tracks on Market St. Don’t think I’d even reached cruising speed when it swung out of control.

The bag really wasn’t that heavy - just a laptop, lock, sweatshirt and sundries.

I wonder if years of riding it with a fucked up headset had something to do with it. Still, lasted 10 years of very all purpose riding pleasure.

Should I new fork or new bike? Haven’t checked the frame over for wrinkles but seems alright.

I’m glad you didn’t die!

Kinda looks like the bag kept the fork from folding all the way forward?

Thank you bag, also the rack tang running into the headset cup

New fork time, frame should be fine.

Might be the angle, but the steerer wall thickness looks thinner than I’d expect to see.

I went for a ride with a new guy on our team. When the ride finished he tipped his head forward and squeezed a significant amount of sweat out of his helmet by pressing down on it. It was like 55 degrees and very windy that day. I can’t imagine what he’s like in the humid summer.

It’s me. During the humid summer you just have to do that a few times during the ride as well.

This is why I wear cycling caps at all times, unless racing.

I have to wear a hat or sweatband when riding vigorously. If sweatband, a couple of stops are usually required to wring it out.

doesn’t your head get too hot then?

Nah. Sweat kinda keeps the cap cool.

I’m also a head sweat guy. Like my armpits don’t sweat at all but my head chest and back all pour like a waterfall.

yeah my scalp gets uncomfortably hot under many conditions

Yes I to perspire from my skin, fellow humans.

I think I’m kinda the same, but my armpits do sweat…just not as much as everything else.

I’m gonna weigh myself pre- and post-trainer workout and see what the difference is.
