please be mindful to shut off the breaker and confirm that it is actually grounded though. if it isn’t, replace with gfci receptacle and label no equipment ground. also grounded to box doesn’t necessarily mean grounded.

Wow it’s not my house, it’s a rental. And plugs stay firmly in place despite their appearance. As it’s where i park my bike they don’t see much use anyway

I did it in our last rental house in Austin so a) plugs would stop falling out in the kitchen, and b) so we could run a kiln in the garage
your outlet sucks and we have a team of experts to prove it
My friend just bought a State Core-Line and brought it over to help him get set up. Very much looks like there’s a crack in the chainstay.

We fail every single one. Shimano has replaced 100%.
Leads me to believe that once they have it in their possession they don’t want to assume liability regardless of condition.

Friend in Melb said they’d inspected and ok’d all they’d seen, no returns. But not a shop that has a lot of high end road bikes.
Process: IMPORTANT SAFETY INSPECTION
Shimano has developed the crankset inspection process and will provide clear instructions and tutorials for dealers.
The dealer will inspect the crankset for signs of bonding separation or delamination.
Consumers whose cranksets show signs of bonding separation or delamination during the inspection will be provided a free replacement crankset from Shimano that the dealer will professionally install
They are labeled specific to the recall, but basically R8100 and R9200 arms with “11-speed” rings. Which I suspect is just a slightly different outer ring.
We’ve sent in both working and broken powermeters so far and in all cases the customer gets a check sent to them directly.
IMO this is the wrong move. We’ve “failed” immaculate cranks and had replacements sent to us.
The whole thing stinks.
It’s a shitty passing of potential liability back to the shops in an effort to delay/reduce the financial hardship of a full blown recall.
