I’d argue that the people making a lot of the goods sold on Ali are more skilled than their US based equivalents. There are obviously exceptions, like with clearly counterfeit Paul products, but gotta be careful with these blanket statements about Chinese made goods.

My personal experience with knockoff AliPaul is very similar to the Reddit guy’s, in that the thumbies I got included a bolt that was too short (real Paul is 30mm, AliPaul was 25mm). I got the right length bolts and they worked fine. I wonder what the guy’s experience would have been if he had gotten bolts the right length, like would he have had enough threads engaged, and no problems?
But like some of the comments suggested, buying a fake bling stem is just dumb. I didn’t mind buying fake thumbies because Paul was the only other option and I would never pay that much. (Btw my thumbies review in a nutshell: wow this is much inferior to trigger shifters)

The only reason for thumbies over triggers is if you wanna use friction which is a good reason if you like that sort of thing, but if you want clicks, yeah, trigger all the way.
