My fit technique is to set the saddle roughly 75cm from the biscuit spindle and then use whatever length cranks from my crank hoard. Is that why my body is falling apart or is that just 40?
I’ve never had a life changing fit. Beyond just setting my shit up by feel it has just never been something I’ve needed. More what’s held me back is a general lack of fitness and flexibility. The more actual exercise and stretching I do, the better I pedal. Crank length barely registers
That’s putting a lot of faith in that bike fitters are equally competent and that your body doesn’t change day to day
You or anyone here have experience or anecdotes about Groovy Cycle Works? Happened across his insta the other day and talk of custom cranks (that aren’t Zinn or whatever) reminded me that he makes Ti stuff.
I luv the tank axle tri-lobe (that I think e.thirteen or someone also used at some point?)
i would like to get a bike fit. but i feel comfortable on the bike. not sure if i’d care?
I’ve never had a life changing fit and I’ve so never felt “right” on a bike even after 4 pro fits on 3 different bikes
If you don’t have pain I wouldn’t say a fit is needed. Tbh a lot of the fit, for me, was about technique.
hmmmm, not sure if this is right? I feel like what you’d want to hold constant across different leg lengths would be the hip angle, gonna have to make some assumptions about femur to fibula/tibia length ratios and then do some trig.
I see what you’re saying, and actually percentages are probably good enough
i.e roughly 28-34 = 31 +/- 10%, so cranks could be 170 +/-17 or 152 to 187.
In one of my old 1890s cycle books the author says cranks were commonly available in 6 - 8" lengths so that’s 152 to 203
Also in short crank adaptations:

68 degree seat angle (PVD is, no surprise, mad about it)
Why can’t he just STFU
Fuck that guy
I think it’s a Reuleaux Triangle?
Framework uses it in their cranks too, but with the spindle being an dynamic expanding collet within a static complete hole in the arm
he is the dark side of Tarck’s moon
What was it?
Early 90s cannondale MTB. Nothing special but it was my commuter/basket bike.
Let the dither begin again.
Tarck Bear takes with one paw and gives with the other.
I’m big enough to admit that it was my fault but bottom bracket assploded mid ride today. Had to limp home and switch bikes.
How did you cause this failure? It’s hard to tell exactly what the failure was.
