Say it ain't so: The Assploded Bike Parts Picture Thread.

No, just broken in general.
I always see them with a tire off, and the wheel still on and the tube and tire just flappin in the breeze. I don’t know how that happens. Did it get a flat and then the rider tried to patch it without removing the wheel and then just gave up? Seems a weird thing to do on a bikeshare bike.

More like the rider kept going with a flat and the tyre and tube rolled off the rim in a corner.

that’s the rare off-axis chainring which, at certain wind angles, can save 17 watts

Nothing a bench vise can’t ‘fix’.

Also a good excuse to not have to use an oval chainring

A mythical GT Quatrefoil tandem rolled through the shop today.

I didn’t get good photos. But this thing was sick.

In other news got our second OEM T47 bb that yeeted its flange off and started driving itself further into the frame.

Holy shit this design is dumb.

Well, shit.

So my bullitt is not a mountain bike. Took it on some singletrack tonight and the dropout exploded on a short steep rooty climb and the hub twisted around until it jammed itself in place allowing me to limp it home the last couple miles.

“Banned” bike shop claims Shimano won’t let it inspect Hollowtech cranksets as part of “inspection and replacement” programme due to failing 100% of them

Honestly thought this was going to be about you!

I read through it to see if this was an issue of british people getting extremely pissed at each other for no reason and it does kind of seem that way. Also this cracked me up:

Mapdec’s owner continued: “We do inspect them, even though I said we don’t inspect them.”

British people love being pissed off and using the term “fit for purpose” in my experience providing international customer support.
