Silicone electrical tape works well too. It’s not adhesive and fuses to itself, like wrappable heat shrink

In my first experience with thru axles was on a MTB and on my 3rd ride I felt like it was shifting real bad up a climb. When I got to the top I found that the rear axle had unthreaded itself entirely.

This is a persistent issue with one of my bikes. I’ve never determined whether it’s defective or I am. And I never have it at the top of my suspect list, for some reason.

Broken like this at the fork and frame connection? We have had this model in DC for as long as I’ve been here and this is the first I’ve seen it broken like that.

Where was PvD at the time?
