What are some nice 650b 38ish tires to replace the G-Ones on my Kogswell? My front g-one has a nice sidewall slash that I was able to get sealed with Stan’s race, but the tread is low as hell anyway so I figure I’ll replace em.
650B x 38 Loup Loup Pass? (Jan Heine
)
I feel @Andrew_Squirrel needs to put these on one of his steads
Last I checked the 650b x 38 (really 35 or so) pari moto was on Q for 25ish dollars. They’re like 45ish elsewhere. Pretty supple and the 42mm version will probably be closer to 38mm
Are they tubeless?
More or less
Dang. You can get a pair of those on Treefort for $44!

That’s a screamin deal.
really? damn. I’m on Euroland Internetz but they are listed as $44/each
The gravelkings work really well tubeless, but aren’t supple. I’ve heard bad things from people about the pari moto tubeless but I’ve never used them myself, I suspect it isn’t too bad. No idea where the “pari moto with gravel king casing” fits into all this
I ran gravel king pari motos tubeless for 2 years. They’re fine tires.
Mysteries abound!
I’ve got the G-Ones on some Compass rims that aren’t technically tubeless, but they’ve worked flawlessly for many many miles. Maybe I’ll just get a new set of G-Ones since I know those work.
I wonder if there’s a before and after with the Panaracer stuff, now that they apparently have a legitimate tubeless bead. Has it trickled down to the PariMotos, yet?
Tarck,
I accidentally’d a 700c niner rlt take-off wheelset for cheap (not officially tubeless).
Thinking about setting them up as road wheels for DayRuiner (currently 650x47 Byways).
Any recommendations for something faster for road / commute? Maybe 700x35??
Is this stupid?
I’m a fan of Kojaks in that size. They’re reliable as hell.
I haven’t ridden on these, but they’re getting great reviews from all the Bicycle Cool Kids and the casing should be more supple than the Kojaks, they’re supposed to be fast. https://www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/racing_tires/G-ONE_Speed
240g and half the price of Compass Extralight!
Holy shit. If anyone is ordering from Japan and wants to split the shipping, I bet we could get an order together.
Had my first tubeless puncture yesterday. A rock had shifted on a short punchy climb so that it had a sharp squared off edge facing me and I hit it pretty hard. Some sealant squirted out and it kept hissing and bubbling intermittently for another 10-15 minutes. The cut is maybe 3-4 mm long in the middle of the tread, between the lugs. Since it’s all sealed up now I can just keep riding and not worry about it? That’s the point, right?
Yeah. If you can’t it will let you know by leaking there.
