Souplesse Casings and Bike Soup - The Tire Thread

Is that an artifact of the skinwall?

I have no idea. Something something factory mold release?

I think the time has come

I wouldn’t shave the center tread knobs at all

there’s not much rubber below that and it would be a different compound

even shaving the corner knobs is pretty suspect, they aren’t generally in the way

Yeah, thunder butt seems like chill enough tread to not mess with at all.
Granted, I’ve never ridden one.

I am very tempted to get something like that for the ditherer. I don’t ride on the road road that often anymore now that the roads are all good and long enough that I would rather have some thing with smaller and slicker tires on. But then again, I rode it on real mountain bike trails today and it was dry enough that I’m not sure it would’ve done that much better. Eventually the reens die, right @Crustradamus ? I don’t want to pull the reins off if I don’t have to since i don’t trust them to go back on sans tube

tarcklebee for o no baby what you doin awarded to @Crustradamus

I never liked the way burts rolled over, but I don’t know if it is the side knobs or just the shape of the tire on the diameter rims I have on the Rick Jones. Also I just want to finally shave a tire!!!

I found a good deal on some unboxed but unmounted Reen Hers that I’m going to try and fit on my Atlantis (700x55).

I blame all of you for even wanting to try that supple life.

Any deals on unboxed unmounted switchback hills around?

Was some dude selling stuff on the BCC slack

I guess if I want nerd bike deals I need to log in to the nerd bike chats

Finding Braden’s glowing review with mere days left until my Schwalbe tire starts holding air overnight is just more motivation… Compass Tires, Switchback Hill / Review. | Outpost Richmond

should probably scoop that RR/VO bag while you’re at it

That person is in portland. I would’ve bought that bonty pump of all things if they were local.

I might have some in the “pile of things to deal with”.

Email me so I remember to look Friday.

Still a great tire. Still an awful company.

i rode some switchback hills on mtb trails yesterday and it makes me question the idea of swapping the ditherer to some miniknob tire. i don’t ride that bike in the road much but (it wasn’t muddy) i’m not sure how much better it would have been
