fine
never ever put gorilla tape in your rims

I will keep repeating this coz it’s the damn truth:
the woven gorilla tape is FUCKING USELESS AND SHIT for tubeless tape. Yes it will hold for maybe a month or so but then the raw woven edge will start sucking up fluid sealant until it’s saturated and you will have slow leaks all round your rim through every spoke hole.

Yes their clear tape will work since it’s not woven but that’s just stupid expensive when you can buy 3M strapping tape in big rolls on ebay…
3M 8898 & 8896 is the blue stuff that’s often re-branded.

Step one: Throw Gorilla tape back in the junk drawer.

I had to peel all of the gorilla residue off before re-taping, never again.

The rim is 21mm, using Orange, and I picked up the 3M for this recent job, so much easier to work with than Stan’s!

Only did a single layer with a double over the valve, going to try another layer and hope…

gorilla tape is what you always dreamed duck tape would be. It’s strong and sticky and has no purpose being around a bike.

ya i was joking

Full double wrap, triple over the valve, seems to be holding!

I for one appreciated your sarcastic reply

I somehow managed to wear a hole in my Ortlieb briefcase pannier, so I think I’ll patch it with some gorilla tape. Seems like a good use for the stuff.

What’s tarcks most favoritist 622x28 tire? Doesn’t have to be fancy pants. Should I just let orc tell me to get nomads?

Well, I can’t now that you’ve done it for me.

There are myriad good options in 28. Best on the market now is probably the GP5K, but all the usual suspects would make a good choice.

I really like speccy roubaix 33mm, they probably make a 28 too

GP5K when tubeless is available ???

Available now! But both the tubeless and the tubed versions are being held in high regard.

GP5k tubeless is pretty damn awesome

just remember they’re true to size now

the new 30mm size is slightly smaller than the old GP4000s2 “28”

Rad, I’ll get them next time I need tires. They will be going on a bike with 33mm max reasonable clearance, so no mega-spread is fine with me. I’m currently watching a pair of WTB Exposures bloating up to alarming dimensions
