this is for bookmarking links that we may want for future reference, so we don’t have to ask someone or try to dig through the old threads looking for that guy that sells the stem I want.

Do you know about the bookmark functionality on this site?

That said, there have been several previous attempts at this, including the Tarck Approved database.

And of course, Official remember that time Blazedelf was talking about that thing that one time but can't find the thread, thread. (I almost couldn’t find this thread.)

maybe that makes more sense

I’ll give the bookmarks a try

that other link became a conversation which kind of negates the point

bookmarks work really well in my experience, though they can’t differentiate between ‘useful info in a post’ and ‘link to a product or something off site’

I use mymind for more robust bookmarks, mostly images but it handles other media and product links also

Related, I’ve been playing around with a variety of self-hosted versions of this. The one I’m most happy with right now is Karakeep (formerly Hoarder) and it has a list of similar tools towards the bottom of the readme.

I was kind of thinking it would be nice to collect them as a group and have a thread of links to scroll through but instead we’re just going to discuss the apps we’re using now that Instapaper sucks

it would be cool to have a tarck repo for this kind of thing, maybe a sidebar link
