is it a 42 or 44cm? the seller doesn’t seem to know.
but i’d be comfy paying up to just shy of maybe $900. that’s jsut me though.
I would agree with this, if I had a spare 900 it would be going towards finding a used complete crosscheck…or building up a tandem
Ehh, I think that $900 is pushing it - that’s almost the cost of a new complete CC. I’d say that $700 is more reasonable.
Anyway, it’s likely to stay low, given that it’s such an off size and all. Good luck.
Anita you probably know this already, but bidding anytime but in the last 5-10 seconds of the auction is strictly for jive ass suckers. good luck! It looks like a pretty sweet bike. That’s the best looking build of a hulk green crosscheck i’ve seen.
TAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRCK!!!
good luck anita
Why would someone who rides a bike that small use 40cm bars?
those frames run kind of big, seller could have been in between sizes

yeah a new crosscheck is $930
but comes stock with tiagra, am I right thinking the XTR derailleur setup is a step up? also dura ace hubs as opposed to deore, etc. etc. just trying to figure out if the components on this make it worth getting used at about the same price
Those blue tires alone make it worth it!
Leverage.
XTR is a huge step up from tiagra.
This is very very true.
part of why i’d be willing to pay near, but not quite, retail for it. obviously, the less you pay the better. i’d be more comfortable paying $700 rather than $850, but i wouldn’t be upset if i did end up paying $850. anything over $900 would be tough to do, unless it would be hard for me to find another bike in the same shape in the same size anytime soon.
I don’t think that XTR derailer is of a particularly recent vintage. Not saying it’s worn out, but I think the XTRs wear faster than the XTs. The wear on the parts is something to consider. I’d agree with around $700. Assuming you’ve been looking and there’s not a lot in your size.
What’s going on with the sloping tt on that thing, my CC has one that’s perfectly level.
So there is enough room for the front wheel without stretching out the wheelbase and the resulting crazy fork angle, I suspect.
Yours is also not a 42cm.
the 42 (possibly the 46) have sloping top tubes, because the people riding them are short presumably, it worked great for me
