Saw Graeme Obree’a bikes at the transportation museum in Glasgow. Confused though because they say that they’re “replica” bikes.

What do museums do about bike tires? Do they go around and inflate them periodically to keep them from going flat? Fill the tubes with spray foam or something?

Flat and dry-rotted is what I have typically observed on bikes and motorcycles in musems

IIRC the National Motorcycle Museum in Anamosa, IA had tons of flat tires. And oil catch pans… Why they left the engines full of oil I don’t know, I guess you probably want a little in there, and then it keeps leaking out, so you add some more,

Also probably hard to make sure it is ALL out when you drain it.
