even weirder, salsa doesn’t show the stem installed backwards like you evidently need to be able to run drop bars and have a reasonable reach to the hoods
the first bike with both standover and standunder
The first bike designed to be purchased by people with a fourth home in aspen and then converted to flat bars by their cycle atelier
Splatter paints recently, not sure if I would be happy to own something like this long term. I think the Crust is the most well done, being able to show some restraint to let the paint become a part of the whole is important but apparently hard to do.
Has anyone ever done a paint matched crankset? It seems like the next logical step after matching seatpost, stem, frame pump, etc. But I can’t remember ever seeing one.
Appelman maybe
it’s a great combination
I hate the design and the name of appleman cranks and they’re the only ones doing anything interesting with colors on cranksets and are constantly hitting it out of the park on color combinations. I’m so conflicted.
these are all painted cranks but none of these are cranks custom painted to match a frame
If an elf bar was a crank
if any bike were begging for a waxed chain….
I saw a sweet cannondale tandem build on craigslist a few years ago that was sick.
does cocaine white Santé count as painted to match frame, or the frame was painted to match the group?
Needs the groupset-correct mirrored crank bolt cover.

I have a cousin who asked me to take her out on local trails last weekend because she has a big multi day ride planned and she has no offroad experience. She cracks me up, she is an actor/performer/singer, like her husband. They live for the arts, but she loves bike mechanicing! She was asking me about tire choices. I said are you going to run them tubeless. She said yeah, but she would sort it out. We met on the Sunday and I am checking out her fruity Trek Checkpoint with the blip blip gears etc. I see all these little white spots on the frame and say, Kali, did you have some problems with the tubelessing? She goes, nah thats just the colour scheme…
I felt like a twat mansplainer. It really looked like a tire had sprayed ghiz all over her frame. And damn she rode all the trails like a boss. Has her dad’s confidence and her late mums engine.
