A bmx pump track

I have no problem with this or any other contraption that replaces a car.
That’s the perfect size for a motor vehicle in NYC.
As long as it tops out at 20mph, I love it.

Rudy, I wasn’t complaining about the stupid techbro scooter. I was wondering why there is a potato in the bucket. also, I don’t really like free range sidewalk parking, they have some kind of alarm disabler system so instead of locking them in normal spots they just leave them wherever they want. we don’t have space for that, and it makes us all look bad.

I propose we normalize squirting a ketchup packet all over the grips of rudely parked scooters

  • Maybe they would learn
  • If not, at least it would go well with the potato

Around Seattle, the vast majority of poorly parked scooters are lime/bird things. So the person who parks in the middle of the sidewalk is already gone. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to watch it being done in a way that I had the ability to yell at the person to.do a better job parking.

Same for parking them at bike racks. Was running errands the other day and a bike rack spot that usually had like 6 staple racks was covered with 20 lime bikes and scooters. Could only access one rack to lock up to.

Reinforces the idea that a friend of mine had back in the day. Most of these people are simply drivers who are temporarily removed from their vehicles. Their distaste for cyclists and cycling infrastructure remains largely intact.

I think about this all the time when a surron/escooter/whatever is passing all the bikes on the bridge bike path at 35mph. They aren’t people who “upgraded” from acoustic bikes.

One time someone dumped a milkshake on my saddle because they didn’t like how I locked up at a rack. It was one of these racks:

I parked parallel to it, taking up about half of one side. They got so mad that I took up more space than they thought was appropriate that they dumped the shake and left a hastily scrawled note stuck to my saddle. It was mind boggling and infuriating.

The appropriate passive aggressive response would have been to lock on top of you.
