Tern Sammiches

Looking through his flickr, he builds/modifies frames, wears crocs, and has pictures of cats. Someone should invite him here.

Wait, where was the brake before all the scaffolding was added?

it could be any one of us

Not it.

You can’t just throw a bunch of interesting parts together, you’ve got to have a plan.

A convertible (700c/26") frame?

isnt that a sheldon brown thing?

I’d love to see someone build a double rimmed wheel for a setup like that, inner 26in rim and outer 700c. Would possibly work with a 32h rim inner laced 16h and 32h outer rim laced 16h through the unused holes in the inner rim…

You might have to lengthen the passthrough holes, but, hmm, I’ve got some spare 700c and 26" rims in my bike mess, and, of course, about a thousand used spokes & nipples.

Is this the literal “Grant-approved” disc brake?

if you lace radially then you might get away without any hole lengthening…

Probably not feasible for rear wheels if acrual riding is involved but this is sounding like an art bike project anyway.

caliper on 700C
long arm linear pull on 26"
some sort of magura hydro on 20" without the stay brace.

edit: seatstay direct mount brake on 700C, chainstay U brake on 650B, ultraultralong yoke canti on mixte stays with straddle hanger approx at the head tube for 20"
