This is considerably less ugly.

I thought the 04-present stuff looked pretty slick, though I will always be a fan of mid 80’s 105, I think the gold arrow group I have is the most attractive road group ever, if only I could have brifters with it…
the new cranks are pretty fugly, yep…
i have first generation dura-ace on my road bike and it is damn sexy.
drool…
I’d rather have ugly dura ace than bullshit fucking campy 11 speed.
5mm wide chains are awesome. Now you’ll get to replace your $130 record chain every two months instead of every three.
I can’t believe campy did it. They’re getting worse than shimano with constant upgrades. Up until a few years ago they were good. Still had standard BB’s with square taper and most groups were compatible with each other. Then they jumped straight into integrated BB’s, outboard bearings, and now 11 speed. I really hope nobody rides it.
I’m not bitter or anything.

just means there will be a shit ton of old campy 10 speed and 9 speed groups on ebay for cheap because your local lawyer/banker/realestate agent bike enthusiast will need the newest shit on his 3500 dollar carbon tri frame for when he rides (poorly) local crits. Plus, if you work in a bike shop you can snag the parts coming off his bike for super cheap, because lets face it, none of those guys bother to figure out how to work on their own bikes, what are they? a bunch of monkey wrenchers?
I literally laughed-out-loud when I saw eleven-speed Campy on VeloNews. Was there a person alive who didn’t immediately think of this?
Anyway, it’s silly to be mad at either Shimano or Campagnolo for incompatibility between the old and new. It’s not planned obsolescence, it’s just the nature of technology when you begin working with the levels of minutia that comes with something some insanely complicated. I also think that reverse-compatibility with old groups (especially Dura Ace) is greatly overstated in these types of arguments. Anyone who works on old bikes can tell you that.
I like the new Dura Ace. When they introduce the upgrades to the Ultegra line, I’ll probably move up to their current ten-speed offerings. I love Shimano, but I’m not a fan of the external cables or the ergonomics of the levers, something they’ve apparently finally addressed.
My biggest concern is that 7900 is going to leave shops like mine, with a few 7800 bikes on the floor, in a lurch as the rich Trek buyers start doing their homework and decide that they need the best group, period.
Those cranks are awful.
dura ace road cranks have been awful for a minute
they aren’t that bad…
biopace ftw
haha…i’ll admit, i have a biopace chainring on my roadie. wasnt completely intentional, but its there…
Yeah my lady has Biopace rings on her Torelli. She’s fine with it.
I like the low profile RD, the rest can take a hike.

I think the grouppo looks fine but the cranks are still pretty ugly. At least the gray causes them to look a little less massive than the last generation.
Campys are still prettier.
My girlfriend has biopace. The only (apparently) brand new cranks in our co-op, and they were almost identical to whatever it was we pulled off her old trek.
