the drivetrain on that surly makes me ache. They both need discs.

carry on

Fair point on the stickers.

My intro to touring was the Northern Tier of the US when moving to Seattle for grad school. Since then, a 1-2 week tour has been our standard summer vacation, and we’ve covered most of the west coast between Vancouver and SF, LEJoG, and a bunch of New England plus various shorter trips. Few nude beaches and no yaks, but I did see a moose this summer.

the mere thought of disassembling and reassembling that winter with all them doodads is making me feel light-headed. i think i’d rather die.

Beloved fendered road bike (even though the rear brake fender clearance is nonexistent). I picked it up used on Seattle Craigslist and rode it until I found a crack in the seat tube. Now I’m not sure what to do with the frame.

It’s a bit of a production but it does all fit in a suitcase.

I probably should have done discs for the Winter, but SRAM’s hydro recall was still a little too fresh in my mind.

The Surly at this point is on palliative care only. I figure I’m testing Fred’s theory that it’s impossible to rust through a Surly.

One of the nicer garage doors, at least.

Like, how do you even allow a drivetrain to get this rusty?

I’m enjoying the DGAF patina on the trucker.

I don’t understand using center-mount brakes on a custom bike especially if you’re going to put a front rack on it

Brazeon brake posts make everything easier, even if you still insist on Pauls

Eric’s advice, I think for the sake of packability? :man_shrugging:

Ergo bars = BAN

Why did you make Eric make you an LHT if you already had one? Are you like, hey this is a great bike, I’ll get one just like it but really really nice so I’m afraid to f-it up?

Don’t answer that. I don’t want to know.

Welcome stranger. We (grudgingly) speak your name.

Seattle tarck is full. Take your rusty drive train somewhere else. :colbert:
