Depends. For turning my Cross-Check into a 90s mountain bike (single speed preferably), highly interested in suggestions. For the rest of my bikes, they seem to be okay for my needs, but if there’s room for improvement I’m all ears.

No one on Craigslist is selling a 90s mountain bike here, unfortunately. I live in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, which is essentially outer space as far as commerce is concerned. Your suggestion is undoubtedly the correct one though.
It rides so well. I don’t know what is wrong with my body.
