The official Tarckbike "Is my Rawland Nordavinden cracked?" and general nerdavinden rememberance, celebration, and storytime thread.

I honestly can’t tell if it’s just a paint thing or not but it’s not looking too great.

It’s a good opportunity to lightheartedly argue about it on the internet and/or post pictures of your old nordavinden and nordavinden stories.

I think I’m just going to mark the extents of it with a marker and then continue to YOLO it for the time being.

good plan.

wish I had a nerdavinden, but couldn’t justify it at the time. best i can do is an rSogn with flatbars and some very old Hetres that lives on a hook.

i knew there was some shithead behavior going on but i haven’t even thought about the brand for years. i guess i just thought it was totally dead and defunct at this point

idk dude seems like a standup guy who couldn’t figure out how to run a bike biz on the side

Might be true and I’m probably being too mean.

Edit: yeah too mean. Withdrawn.

Shut your pubes mouth, the Nordavinden was a sick bike. I couldn’t give two fucks about the douche owner. I know they were terrible, but I got my frame cheap, rode it some, built up the TB-14 tarck bear editions for it, and then sold it to dumpsterlife after I got the coffeegrinder. Then missed the wigglebikelyfe a bit.

I never bonded with mine, but didn’t embrace the front rack/rando bag. Sold it. Regretted it, bought my Grizl with the proceeds

I once saw this guy with like 10cm of spacers, a 100 stem and a 0 setback Thomson with a brooks on a nerdavinden

I wanted to take a photo of it and post it to the internet of bad bike fits but I just felt bad to yuck someone’s yum

Also went to a new bike introduction at Velo cult where the announcement was made in sign language

Except that time I did post it to the internet

Approximately here

I haven’t changed much

a bad fit is never yum (to include my own indiscretions, attached)

Probably the only bike I would ever describe riding as, “a hoot.”

Edit: @Emor_please graciously let me test ride his while he was at work. Had a blast, bought this one. Rode a bunch, got into racing, sold it to make room.

i was late to the party as usual and got mine after the happening. ended up getting my frame for something like $500 NIB from some obscure bike shop on the internet. apparently it had just been sitting in the back of the warehouse for several years at that point.

Can’t remember if @Emor_please broke both of his frames or if he is still riding his replacement (which I remember being a story as well). I think he liked it quite a lot but I always understood it was not a bike for me after that lol

I CAT6ed a nordavinden on my space horse once

Guy in his 70s does a lap around my neighborhood on one with a mile of spacers on it and a front bag almost tall enough to fit a whole baguette in…. Though the last time I saw him he was on a much dumber ti thing with electronic shifters and 40mm tires. Looked like a boutique Salsa. Made me sad.

Isn’t there a trope where old enemies become friends as the world passes them by and both their positions become obsolete and irrelevant. They bond over their fear of being forgotten and shit.
