I can’t stop looking at these:
I’ve got a pair of the Scott AT-4 bars if you want to relive the experience.
I bought a NOS pair of those on the internet from Germany fully twenty years ago
I remember that version definitely didn’t have 10s indexing on the hexagonal selector, but did have Campy 8sp which my bike had indexed DT shifters for
I never mounted them, the shifting action was incredibly stiff and had a long throw
Imagining pre-teen Fred buying wackadoo Italian shakes off the internet instead of trying to outsmart the Net Nanny like pre-teen Shart
I remember the prices being listed in Deutschmarks
but my dad probably did paypal in euro?
Oh god, noooooooooo
That was done after hydro shakes and and clutched danglers right?
at that point (assuming it was done then) maybe just barely. sram was getting into it with taperbore or whatever mode of failure on theirs (i forget if they clutched yet) and shimano didn’t have di2 xtr yet. so not for the cost of some bars and stoker levers. not justifying it, just saying
That’s basically the redneck version of the set-up in this video:
can’t figure out how to embed rn lol
Did you stick around to say hi to Grant?
I feel like we should be periodically emailing him pictures of handlebar setups to see if any make it into a BLUG post with florid praise
Colors are definitely not his style, but seems like they’d be more in line for the yuts that work at Riv.
Could grips be made with a blug approved handkerchief and twine
Where’s @BicyclePears to make the stereotype rivencrust for his next raffle
that’s what happens when you try to use shop air to remove brat ape but forget to loosen the shake clamp to let it all the way down to the drops
