Haha, yeah, probably goes without saying. I’m Rivpilled.
But won’t, because that’s basically just my Sam with fewer parts.

That would be the smart move but it’s not really the next n+1 on deck…still shopping e-cargo bikes.
you know if the supply of M730 cranks dries up, I’ll probably switch to these
but real talk, they don’t look as good as M730s
you’ll never get me to ride those godawful slip king pedals though
they’re nice looking cranks but I can’t get over the Toys ‘Я’ Us style logo cast in
yeah, the logo is beyond stupid but it’s grant. the guy has the world’s most curated and developed awful taste in bicycles
Went to RBW worldwide HQ to pick up a floor pump. They had a ton of demo bikes and virtually no retail shop floor, plus the 2 staff were very friendly, kept saying how they didn’t want to push bike sales. Their location is hard to find and not bike friendly though (see how it’s with a bunch of garages).
They also had tandems and I told sup and she was like “hell no” even though we’d never ridden one together lol
Thats quite the list of businesses… and Rivendell
Totally fits the boomer consumer tho
it’s a very short walk from the Walnut Creek Bart station though
yeah it’s kind of a sad location for a bike shop, much less such a big/historic/influential/whatever brand.
A few months back a bud organized an overnighter and Riv was the meetup/preride hangout spot, and on the one hand “oh cool, riv”, but on the other hand “you want us to just hang out on the hottest, shade-less blacktop imaginable for an hour while everyone straggles in? Nah, we’re finding the nearest city park”
This was mostly the same GP lore rehashed but
“I wet the bed until I was twenty-three,” he said. “It changes your whole point of view toward life.”
I hadn’t heard this one before. As the parent of an 11yo who struggles, I wish there had been more elaboration and less implication of how it changes your whole point of view toward life.
It’s impressive who the writer interviews for the piece. She also name drops Velo Orange
Photo likely referenced in the essay. GWB on the copbike, Carter the xbiker. This is so fitting
Spotted another Riv in the bike room at work. Looks new (save for the TRP ‘cross cantis). Shiny SON hub still has the protective plastic wrap on it.
