I did the Mercier at the top. 72 HTA 45 Rake 20x1.5 wheel (38mm tire)
calculator sez 32mm of trail.

ah wild. makes me want one even more
my low trail folder i had ~4 years ago was a lot of fun

Had one, but couldn’t find a rack to fit (as the Civia one had disappeared by that time). Felt a bit awkward to ride on its own, with tiny wheels feeling liek they took more energy to get moving and stay at pace. Can’t remember if I sold it to another tarcker or not.

Has anyone ever written an article about the physics of why mini-velos aren’t as fast as their larger wheel brethren?

Jan has “spun his wheels” to make either argument, for whichever conclusion suits him in that moment

he also recapitulated the “flickability” idea from first principles a decade after Pinkbike and MTBR forums stopped expending 100k words a week shitting on early 29ers

They have smaller wheels, any dummy can see they are slower.

“custom made tandem from two BMX bikes”

:bear:

Every two bike tandem hack I’ve seen has been a stick welded blobby mess that screams flexible death trap, but that looks legit.

I call bullshit. Firstly, it’s got dangler ends. Secondly, non-BMX fork. Thirds, euro BB. I could fucking go on.

You’re definitely correct. That shit ain’t a two-bmx-tandem. It’s a shitty step through with like 2 extra tubes.

But on the topic of badass kids bikes, my friend taught his girlfriend’s son (age like 10?) how to ride clipless this week. Kid really wants to race cross and goes to all the local events. 10 year old kid rocking world champ Time Atacs.

You had me right up until Time Atac…

Why’s this shit never come up in 60cm?

not a lot of 6’2" njs racers

You barely even see a 56 and if you do it $1000000000

Could go the squid route and diy it. When it goes to shit after a couple months, switch it up.

What about 6’5"?

I like the squid idea, I might have to try that on one of my dumb bikes.
