The "What's it Worth" Thread Redux

At least a couple bongs I bet.

is 4 out of the question?

Thereā€™s a 48 cm frame on the 'Bay listed for 3k, but itā€™s damn near mint.

You could always list it for 4 and let it soak. You might get a bite. Just make sure to turn off offers, or youā€™ll get every lowball offer out there.

I think there must be a way to set a minimum offer on the backside, with an auto-reply. Iā€™ve definitely made offers on stuff and instantly got a rejection that seemed robo-generated.

Yeah, there is a minimum offer. But in my experience, someone will eventually pay my asking price if Iā€™m patient.

Iā€™ve definitely been on the buying side of that. Checking in on an auction over a day. Then every other day. Then a week later just to see if the price has droppedā€¦then a month later I say eff it and just buy.

@quilbert420 can you get some really nice pics of it and get prolly to feature it on readerā€™s rides or something first?

lol I might be your huckleberry again, is this the version that has an 11-34 cassette?

especially if we can find a way to replace the banjo hoses without re-buying the OEM EC-DB003 every time

Haha yes. 11-34. Original chain but always Silca waxed and in good shape.

I probably have some hose kits somewhere.

Iā€™m new to hydros but I refuse to do banjos for this very reason.

51 ST/52 TT Landshark Road Shark
Got some surface rust where the paint chipped. dura ace hubs and brakes with ultegra everything else. gonna try to sell it at a bike swap this weekend. does $400 sound fair enough?

I think $400 is a fair starting point. The size with that tiny ht might be a tough sell but who knows. If I saw a ~60cm landshark like that at a swap I would definitely lowball at like $250.

I feel like youā€™ll either get asking by a bike nerd whoā€™s stoked on that specific thing, or passed on by a lot of folckx if it isnā€™t in rideable condition. with that in mind, if you want to unload it, making it rideable would help significantly even with parts bin parts

thanks for the insight yā€™all. I was gonna recable/house it but then realized the rear shifter is not functioning. unfortunately donā€™t have another one on hand, so maybe Iā€™ll just knock the price down a little

Just flush it with some pb blaster and the pawls might just spring back to life.

update for those interested: had the landshark tagged for $333 and nobody bit all day. lots of people told me it was a great deal but it was too small for just about everyone. end of the day I traded for this Basso with full Shimano tri color that fits my partner and is in working condition

Omg. I bought a Basso Gap frameset of that exact color scheme brand new in like 1990. I think that paint scheme was called Mexico.

Good trade imo. On the topic of vintage road bikes, Iā€™m thinking of selling my Lemond team z. Not sure what to ask. The full 600 group is mint(hoods, no rash, tricolor logos intact, matching hubs/skewers etc) so it might be better to part that out as a kit to some nerd.
