I’ve seen them go for nuts cheap.
Yeah I almost got one for $325
there’s one on eugene craigslist in giant size for $100 with parts
iro model19. crank, stem bar, seatpost are all oem meh stuff, wheels are formulas to blunts. brakes are mix (LX fornt, juicy3 rear), has fat pb speedez fenders (no fender mounts coz mountain bike that I fredded out for commuting).
i like it, but I might need to sell it to help pay for a new road frame/repairs
1997 LeMond Reno. True Temper. Shimano RSX 7 speed group. Listed for $300 on CL. Worth it? Ridiculous stem will be first to go. Considering it for something to ride when I am going far and don’t want to lock up my nice bike.
that lemond is worth 300 to a flipper. more if you’d ride it.
edit thought you said oc plat.
prol worth 300, you could flip it for more if you separate it but whatever.

They seem readily available in the $300-$400 range. Usually 2-3 on eebay at any given time.

Cool. I’m not lookin’ to flip it, just to have as another bike for less than desirable conditions.
Left a message for the guy, if it’s still available I’ll probably pick it up later today.
Looks like dude sold it. Oh well.
how much d’ya think an orbea altec/lobular pista frameset (in great cond.) would be worth?
dunno, they’re cool looking though.
Yo guise! There’s a 2010 Trek T-1 on eBay. Frame only, seatpost - no frok. There seems to be a dent in the BB and one along my right side of the seat tube. Is this even worth bidding on?
crashed probably.
edit
repainted and thats all the better it looks?
crashed definitely
was probably sick pedal grinds bro
T1s are barf
my 60cm 2009 masi speciale has not seen the light of day in about 6 months… i think its time to sell it or part it out.

ive put about 2k miles on it and never crashed it. its got a few small scratches on it from leaning up against other bikes but is in otherwise excellent shape. its mostly box stock but a few things were changed around. its got 105 brake calipers, it came with a 36t small ring rather than a 34t, it has a brand new sram gxp bb only because i have an extra one laying around and this is the only bike i own with a gxp crankset. i only put about 1k miles on the original white vittorias and plan on putting them back on to sell the bike. it will have a brand new 105 chain and white cinelli cork bar tape on it before its sold.
i have no concept of what used road bikes should be sold for. in the past for mountain bikes ive usually gone with half of retail out-the-door cost if its over a year old but less than 2 or 3. all said and done (not including the brakes, chain, batrape and bb) it was about $1900, so i was thinking in the $800-900 range? am i completely bonkers? more? less? or would i be better off parting it out? I was originally planning on putting it up on craigslist and a few forums for $900 obo and if i dont get $800 after a few weeks, parting it out on ebay.
any of you tall tarckers want it?
you should have no problems at 900 for the bay area (iirc you’re in the concord CA area) with good pictures. I’d list 950 and you’ll probably get 900. but who knows
awesome, thanks.
and yes, concord.
My girlfriend has a late 90s Mongoose MTB, back when they still had some decent models.
Like this, with just about all the same parts: http://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=1997&Brand=Mongoose&Model=VRS+3.0&Type=bike
It needs a new cable set and chain to be working, plus some “work” on the fork/shock.
So… obviously it was once fairly nice, as a $1400 bike. Now it’s old, I’m wondering if it’s worth the work of making it rideable and complete (either to ride or sell).
Thoughts?
