Feel like this joke would work a little better if it was a Raleigh Technium frame rather than Giant Cadex but still good joke.

dang. shoulda looked closer.

Crackex?

I’ll allow it

I have this cheap fork on my Soma doublecross hybrid dadbike.

replace with cheap @igor Piolet fork? or wait for something thru axle? Black mtn cycles MCD fork is out of stock and I think their Road+ fork is too short A-to-C. I’d like to maybe dynolight this bike? or put a coolguy rack on it?

Was gonna MCD fork the dew, since that’s the best fit, but right now I’m putting some ortleib clamp on mounts and yoloing it. That piolet fork looks really tempting.

Or I could get one of these.

The chromoly thru-axle P2 touring fork looks promising.

Fucking campy cable kit that came with my new shifters is pissing me off

  • no brake housing ends
  • super short housing sections leave just a couple inches left after my cuts
  • front brake cable is too short to reach my brake, a cantilever, wouldn’t even be close to enough for a cable dick

Clearly only made to cable a plain ass road bike, f u campy it’s 2020 (disregard canti brake plz)

Gonna dither some new wheels for my nordavinden. Has anyone got last minute suggestions for not very expensive TL road bike rimbrake rims of the moment? Considering Kinlin XR22t or XR26ts from Malcolm Borg/ Cycle Clinic.

I plan to use dt Swiss r460 when I build some of those wheels eventually

say no more…

Truth be told Shimano does this crap too with OEM housing supplied with shifters and Sram isn’t much better.

Yea, their cable kits are bullshit. Pretty sure I’m still using the brake cable ferrules from a bike I bought used in 2011 that came with some old Campy 8-spd stuff.

The rear dangler cables are never long enough. I always have to make sure I have a stash of Jagwire tandem length cables in the parts bin.

Yo tarckers running campy.

Y u no jagwire…?

Still working through my stash of Campy kits, think I’m down to two left now. It’s also my least ridden bike, so cables usually only get replaced when I’m dithering on bars.

Just wanted to say my kinlin 650 wheels came from Malcolm and they’ve been great

@EndpointBraden @Bootus @viggen my only other data point was a set up on a regular old road bike which went off without issue. I now have a jagwire front brake cable for this

On another note, Im using these up for shimergo 9 speed. Shifting was sucking so I swapped in a 10s cassette and used the alt routing. Shifting was a little better but not great so I went back to 9s cassette and kept the alt routing. Its working pretty well in that config so :man_shrugging:t2:

I’m just going to get raw rims from him, so mander built. Therefore i strongly doubt my experience will equal yours. But yeah i corresponded with him a bunch and found he was quite willing to let me know when he thought something i wanted to do was a bad idea. I appreciate that. He seems to really know his shit and i’m pretty much doing everything he told me to on this wheelset.

Paging @Andrew_Squirrel to the tarck courtesy phone

Curious what your long term opinion is of the Grin Tech kit on your cycletruck.

A kit very similar to yours is high on my list for my incoming Lorry. Having ridden some of the Bosch stuff I think a torque PAS setup would be better atmo than a Bafang kit without a torque sensor.
