so if quarantine relaxes in June I’m probably going to be spared from this project, but if not, I’ve been staring at my Lorry, thinking about how I could put an Xtracycle conversion kit on the rear.
Longtail cycletruck. What a time to be alive.

Katu fixie would require a new wheel and it already has a centerlock ready front wheel.
My gut tells me a fixed cog on a centerlock adapter is not a great idea.
White Industries makes CL cogs…just saying
braking forces are about 10x that of pedaling forces
Link me please? I’m not finding anything.
WI uses a splined interface for their cogs, but it isn’t centerlock
^^ I misread some copy and thought the splined ones would fit CL hubs
But only one directional
Probably better to just build a whole new bike around a fixed hub anyway
I liked my 6 bolt (ETA: cog) setup. You do have to tighten down the bolts pretty hard and fuss around a bit centering them.
Are we talking about disc brakes? I have no problem with 6 bolt. Use a torque wrench putting the thing together and do a star pattern to tighten and you won’t get any weirdness.
there’s no good reason to use a 6-bolt brake disc when CL exists, but if we’re talking about fixed cog adapter dithering… maybe? you’ll still have brakes on it so that mitigates some risks
yeah i have no idea how the CL interface would deal with back and forth, but the “braking” force couldn’t be that wild from
whipping skidz could it? i’ve always heard long time mechanics talk about it developing play but i’ve never personally witnessed it in the 8 years i was actively wrenching
HY lorry is mostly together, the thing really does come mostly assembled but does need adjustment and tweaking
WTH so many stupid stickers on it, like seriously why 3x plastic rim labels surrounding the spoke holes that don’t remove cleanly? why a foil sticker on the TT to inform you of a registration giveaway? the Raleigh decal is poor quality and cracked out of the box
I got excited about those decals thinking they were reflective, but no. They’re just white and cracked.
The bars are very close to being a wider version of the VO Milan
I was eyeing this stem, but it’s not available in noir
It’s available in euroland as the Ergotech High Charisma in a bead-blasted black finish (and as the “regular” Charisma in a 20-deg rise version)
Thanks!
Even available in 25.4 clampway.
gonna dither with some bars, @LASER_BEIGE has some metropolis I’ll try out, they look like a larger analogue to the nitto jitensha I like
also into the nitto B904 though
Found a magic gear for my RLT…50x16. Quite stout for the hills around here but nice for the bike path and commuteering. Might install an EBB today and go with something spinnier(40×15?). Also might put on the HG fork and Milkcrate rack…also might put the rear derailleur back on at some point. I don’t know what to do…is this how this thread works? I tarck good?
Pretty good! Gonna need a list of pros/cons.
I think for true dithering you would also consider the HG fork as a starting point and start shopping for frames to begin an entirely new build.
