What did you do to your bike today?

Got it back from machine shop. Haulin’ Colin built an alignment jig and a borer tool and machined the stuck seat post right out of the MB-2 frame. I’ll post pics as soon as he puts them up.

Now I need to decide what exactly to do with all these VNTG MTBK frames I have around. I had finally settled on a plan, but now that this thing is back in the mix I don’t know what exactly to do. Hoarding them all isn’t an option.

tallbike(s)

drilled a hole to attach fender to front rack, for prettier fender line… and less rattling i suppose.

Number one for parts bin fun.
Only the parts I bought were tires that didn’t fit and brake levers that haven’t arrived yet.

Rode my dj at Rays. Mostly did the log rides and pump track. Was able to get the beast to manual some of the pump track whoops and jump the small tables. Was able to get most of the xpert log rides down but that hamster wheel but the springs and shit they use for it are too damn strong. was able to figure out some fun front brake tricks and transfers between lines on the log ride section. I rode a guy who had one of these and realized my bike was a a cumbersome sob that’s probably holding me back.

Also tried a couple demo bikes, stache and a remedy and was able to flat 180 both of them. Was able to get some good time in on the remedy which is a bike I want when i get settled in montana, and really enjoyed it.

Mounted shitty tires and threw it on the rollers for a casual half century. Wanna hit 1K in the Base Mile Blast.

Today I played the shuffle the saddle game between some bikes. Hopefully I got 2 rideable bikes out of it for a total of 4 rideable bikes in the garage. Hopefully I can ride one of them tomorrow.

Rode my 26" mongoose frame converted to sic monster cross bike. Holy shit that bike is stiff. Fun bike is fun though. Veerubber 29 x 1.75 small block knockoff jawns are pretty nice though. Definitely fast on the road and grippy enough off road. Also broke my chain while I was out so nursed half broken chain a half mile to he nearest shop. Got pretty lucky I caught it when I did.

Pieced together this trek 500 that I got from my dad. He had a pair of like new ringle skewers on the stock wheelset, lulz. Gonna be my new commuter/lockup bike with 32mm tires and fenders. Really just waiting on a quill, clipless, and fenders. How stupid am I for wanting to skimp on brakes and use the stock single pivots?

Single pivots will be fine, and will actually be easier to get actual 32s and fenders under than dual pivots.

'Sup VNTG TRK 5HNDRD CRÜ

That’s a good lookin Trek.
Both of them.

Killin’ it in the bike acquisition department as of late.

Gimme.

Got the rear dangler set on the Yeti, after destroying the rd-re116 part on the old one while powering up a muddy grass hill 3 months ago. So fucked that a small spare part is more expensive to acquire than a complete new/used dangler…
Got a used Daytona for cheap, feelsgoodman.

threw on some Oval 44cm drop bars that i picked up cheep from Citybikes. I like the shape, but flex flex flex when I’m in the drops. also new tape, 105 pedals. Didn’t clean anything. Not pictured: Barbie Pink specialized speedzone sport wireless

Totally nailed it on the fit and lever placement.

yeah i know you guys hate seatpost around here

swap the bars back

that must be like a 5" difference from risers to those old balls lever placement you gots now

admit its not comfortable at all now

cmon

admit it
