I get my hair in my jockey wheels.
Put on my new, larger Wald basket, and installed my new budget dynamo light. I am very pleased with how this hack turned out.
BC did you end up buying that Stumpjumper?
I did, but it was sort of impulsive and turned out to be WAY small for me. I have been meaning to re-post it for sale and get rid of it.
I went to my storage unit today and rescued all my spares. so overwhelming. got so many pushers and v-brakes, tires, handlebars.
but I managed to loose a few pairs of wheels somehow. all of my old 26" mtb wheels actually I think my mom threw them away when she moved
excited to build up an mtb for supgirl. and my old trek needs some loving too. tomorrow should be a productive (and frustrating) day…
Replaced the dumb slidestop brake pad thing on my wife’s commuter bike with a normal front brake lever. Followed that up by swapping out the quick-adjust NVO stem thing with a normal threadless one and trimmed like 3 inches off the steerer in the process. So now she can actually stop and doesn’t have a giant protuberance above her stem.
did some work on the sup-mobiles.
frok swap on her fuji - stock fork was so twisted you couldn’t ride it in a straight line.
got this put together and dialed in too. does amazing wheelies. wish it wasn’t too-small for me
I disassembled the S&S land shark touring rando thing that I picked up. Most of the parts are trashed but the frame is in great shape. I’m going to take some hardcore paint stripper to it on the next sunny day and take it over to Horse Cycles to have the frame fork and stem re-powder coated. I ended up hating the color when I saw it in person and the couplers are also powder coated. I might rip off yummy gooey and paint it the same color as his geekhouse. I’ve always wanted a pink bike so this might be the time. This bike is not going to end up being quite the score I was hoping for, but whatever. It’s now a passion project and I’m really excited about it.
I spent 5 hours stripping powder coat off of it. that was a nightmare
powder coat is like plastic, not really like paint. ?
It’s a baked nightmare. Yeah, it’s closer to plastic I think. I used this stuff called rock miracle that was recommended to me by the guy at Horse Cycles. I don’t remember what size the can was, but it was big and I used the entire thing. He also recommended that I do it in the sun because the chemical liked the heat. So I was in the sun for 5 hours melting plastic off of metal with the gnarliest chemical I’ve ever worked with. I got a little on my arm and it burned like fire. Also, being an S&S coupled frame with a million braze ons it took forever to work around it all. I didn’t have a wire brush which would have helped immensely. Only steel wool. I think I’ll pay someone to do it next time.
I also stripped a salsa stem to be painted to match.
paying someone at a place is 100% worth it, also they dip it in a tank with really nasty chemicals and then dispose of them properly (straight into groundwater instead of down the storm drain). I’m mostly kidding about the last part.
Yeah. I was trying to save some money but it was definitely not worth it.
I love it
that selle anatomica is about to break a rail
you may already be sitting on the clamp sometimes
I know, dgaf, its comfy so I’m gonna ride this one into the sunset.
I keep bending my SA back to straight-ish but I know its going to kick the bucket one of these days
I’m always conflicted as they are super comfy but durability is pretty shitty.
Bike looks awesome though, I am constantly considering switching my LHT to some sort of flat bar build when I see your bike

Rode it to the beach, got hella sunburnt, ate tons of junk food.[/quote]
which handlebar beverage/stuff holder is that and how you like?
Replaced bearings on fat caad. Fucker still creaks a bit, but less.
Added purple lip lock.
