The non-jones branded ones are a bit cheaper. Wonder if they would fit nicely enough? Or just get a Tangle instead of going full triangle? TBH tho I LOVE the quality of Revelate stuff. Feels worth every penny. I’m sure you’ve handled a few of their items? It would be super practical for other tasks as well. Why not go with Jandd? Sure it’s not #grammable#tukt#tidangle#gravelbro#doyouevengravel and fancy AF but it gets the job done and you could buy like 4-5 of them for the price of one Revelate. I have their “Frame pack large” on my rando and it’s great.

I actually have a couple of Jandd bags, and neither fits my Jones. Might try Topeak.
The CatEye Jones bottle cage clamps arrived yesterday. They add a small spacer so that the cage will clear the clamp. Includes two stainless steel bolts and several (ss) washers. Even if I go the bladder-in-a-frame-bag route, I’ll still use these on the fork.
Pulled out my Ibis that I’ve been neglecting due to a combination of back injury, vacation, being busy on weekends and spending my bike time on my new Endpoint.
The front tire hasn’t been holding air as steadily as the rear and I was pretty sure that, after inflating, I was feeling uneven weight distribution when spinning the wheel, like the sealant had all congealed in one place. I didn’t really want to take the tire off, so I just overinflated the tire to 20 psi and rode it for about 10 blocks to try to distribute sealant around the tire. I did a bunch of bunnyhops because that’s also an important part of the process.
Now I’ve convinced myself that I don’t feel anymore uneven weight distribution, so I must have fixed the problem. Or something. Fuck it.
Thought for half a second about replacing the NX shifter and dangler on that bike with XT, then remembered that I haven’t ridden it in literally months and that there’s nothing wrong with the NX shifty bits on there now. Resolved to ride it more, then put it away.
Maybe you can find a person who’ll swap Shimano for NX? (not me)
I smanged a new headset lower into my Davidson; the dumb aluminum Dura-Ace crown race got trashed. Replaced with a Tange Levin.
Psyched to ride this bike again; have put this off for too long.
The decaleur uses a pair of handlebar/seat post water bottle holders and an 8-ish" piece of cheese rod. The 15mm diameter rod is a little loose in the Ortlieb hooks. I added a few wraps of electrical tape to tighten it up (that’s what you see at the ends of the rod). It still needs some sort of bumper to keep the bag from sliding sideways. I’ll probably thread hex cap bolts into the threaded holes.
I’ve been thinking about ways of making it a little more adjustable so that I don’t have to make more holes in my bag every time I change my stem (the bag already has two sets of holes from the old decaleur).
I like all the easy attachment possibilities with the cheese rod (I with the threaded holes weren’t imperial). It makes me wonder if I could build a good decaleur with an erector set. Do they still make erector sets?
Would do this, but I already have the ortlieb stuff. My other piece finally arrived from China this week, too. Cheese rod on the way. That is all that was missing (in lieu of the carbon tube).
Too big for ortlieb.
Lukasz bought some smaller diameter carbon rods and I think had to also use electrical tape to get the thickness right for the ortlieb connectors.
