What did you do to your crosscheck today?

Picked up this lil speshXsweedishfox handlebar rack, seems to hold a Carridice bag pretty well. AKA move over posinger cant you see I’m adventure commuting?

Yes but can I just get the holder-onners not the rack?

No, unfortunately.

Put a burrito bag on it, rode it and took some pictures and found a tracklocross spot less than a mile from where I’m living.

Weird. I bought the aluminum loop supports for their buttrocket poopbarn bag ala cart, $10 each. I wonder if I could do it again?

Rode to work and went off the trail to go around some some people taking up the whole path with their dog and of course that was where there was thorns. Did see that the dirt jumps on the way home were open.

Back tyre arrived. Couldn’t get a gumwall so went for red. Kinda wishing I’d gone for Camo now.

Sorry, I should have warned you about going off the trails in town. Last time I did that my tires picked up so many thorns I threw the tubes away because they’d have ended up more patch than tube.

Got my first “hey where’d you get dat rack?” of nice weather ‘23 from a bike nerd outside the co-op. Love living the life of having an enviable rack

Bikers don’t notice anything
Cyclists notice frames
On the spectrum bicycle obsessed connoisseurs can peep a good rack from 50 yards in two seconds

Lol. Figured it out this morning. I swapped back to fast wheels and peeked into the pads to see the little spring arm thing poking out a bit. I must have bent it out a touch installing the winter wheel. It was just feathering the disc enough to barely squeak aaaaall the time.

Shifting still sucks, though.

Well that hits close to home.

Started cleaning up the Miyata and got some free v-brakes & slightly wider handlebar sorted.

Ride dirt jumps all day. At the second spot I went from jumping to the side of a gap jump to clearing all the jumps in the line. So stoked.

Went for a wee ride in the woods to move the tire soup around. I really need to play with the tire pressure.

I tidied up the top half of my wiring harness.

Took all the 11-spd index clutch shifty bits, wet brakes, and bars off the Polyvalent, replacing them with the 10-spd friction, cable brakes, and Soma oxford bars from the winter ruiner. Experimented with a pre-boost 2x mtn crank and a wider BB on the existing crank to see if the mtn pusher would work better, and yes it did, but the chainline was too wack in the big/big and that actually gets used, so back to what it started with and a CX70 pusher. Swapped out the 139 racing basket for the non-racing 139 basket, also from the winter ruiner.

Old Stumpy got a wider BB for optimal chainline.

Rode in the rain for 4 hours.
Enjoying my new combo of 32mm tires and smaller fenders. After years of riding 38s, it feels like.im back on a quick road bike again.
