What did you do to your crosscheck today?

Converted the Marin to tubeless.

I finally broke down and hacked my rear fender stabilizer into being. It’s one of those dropout spacers for shipping bikes. Realistically I’d like a denser 3D printed revision, but at least now I don’t have to listen to the fender bouncing off the tire.

Reccomend swapping to black cable ties, the clear tend not to have any uv stabiliser and will die outside surprisingly quickly

Thank you, I believe it. I couldn’t find my black ties. Also, hopefully with v2 I’d have room for two per side:

If printing something you could even set it up to have room for small hose clamps

Or a small radius on each end to sungly fit against the tubes

Or you could remove the fenders

Or you could 3d print a bike with integrated printed fenders.

looks great! if you ever come up with a 3d model i’ll print it for you

edit: looks like you’re well on your way! holler when you want to make it into a real piece of plastic!

Bought pins for pedals, then remembered that they have washers on them. Took washers off old pins. Gonna get another year out of these lol.

cheap carbon wheels have been built. bought too short of spokes and gave up halfway through and then my ex bike mechanic partner finished them and convinced me they’re fine even though there’s like 1mm of thread showing on many spokes. if I’ve ever had a wheelset to die on it’s this one

curious to know how they ride; I have been too lazy to measure mine for spokes so far

my first carbon wheelset! I’ll let you know. my roommate got some as well and measured this variety at 535 ERD but I maybe should not have taken his word for it. they seemed to build up easier than aluminum despite the wrong spokes.

I also tried building mine with spokes that were too short and had to reorder the spokes but now that I fixed that I am very happy with the ride

Rode a canyon with someone. A year of being at elevation and continuing to smoke is worth seven minutes over 14 miles up hill. Slightly object fixated in a corner, descending skills could use work

only part that matters is whether the spoke got all the way through the head of the nipple to the base of the screwdriver slot

and with brass nipples you can be a bit short of that too

nipples are brass and I’m pretty sure that’s the case! now that the wheels are taped and tires are seated I’m gonna just have to believe that’s the case anyway

Installed double deckas. Got a 36 and a 38. 36 in middle location. Will drag chain over to the 38 if i do any long dh commutes.
