What did you do to your crosscheck today?

Womp womp.

A quick injection of 3oz of sealant got me back on the road, but didn’t solve the problem of the tire being on its last legs. It’s amazing how fast this bike eats tires.
And drivetrains
And wheels
And brake pads

Swapped pedals, again, on the Mod Zero trying to track down another noise, then remembered I meant to grease the bushings instead, but only after the other pedals were on, whoops. Pulled them apart, noticed that there was plenty of grease on the spindles between the outer bearings and inner bushings, spread that on the bushing while reassembling them, and undid the pedal swap. Much better, at least no loose clicky feel and noise in the stand.

Pulled the C67 saddle and lock bracket off the RemiDemi and put them on the Boost. After 90 miles on the RemiDemi, the short cranks, wide Q, and chunky tires are getting tiresome. Time to take a break. It’s still kinda fun tho and the compact size is nice. The Boost feels fast and sporty in comparison.

Put this dropper post on.
Any idea if I can add air to this x fusion?
Kinda lazy janky set up at the moment but it works like 6/10. Won’t return all the way, not overclamped.

Converted my plastic roadie from 10 to 11 speed with a replacement ratchet from Mig I think. Got one of these lightweight 11-36 cassettes for it from Ali. Put a THL on it, using a short cage Red dangler. So I can accidentally go into big big with no probs but little little looks like a pregnant cats belly. I can live with that or maybe shorten chain and go down from a 50 to a 46 on the front. Pretty sure my road racing days are long gone. The bottom half of the cassette is steel with the top alloy. Also, it fits nicely on old school 10 speed road freehub so must be built to the mtb spec with the overhang? Got it primarily incase I do that hill climb series again. Oh yeah. Put a euro styled dynamo light I picked up from the coop on it, seems very weak. Must be a shitty one.

Sounds exactly like the x fusion I had! Very frustrating! I have no helpful advice.

If I decide, I absolutely need one on this commuter I’ll buy that PNW from you.

Is it a 27.2 feature/MALADY? The KS-Lev one I fettled on my buddies bike extends properly, but at about 3/5s of the speed of my fatter KS-Lev and the boss-ladie’s cheapy Giant one.

Yeah. 27.2. Need for riding with the kiddo on the shotgun this weekend in PDX… but it’s also just fun.

Took the pedals off this swapped it back to the 18 tooth cog so the chain doesn’t rub on the frame. Maybe Ira will play around with it more and get more pedal curious.

Going to get some new cable tomorrow because the frayed ones are currently embarrassing.

That one is very sensitive to over clamping, but works great with proper torque. It was challenging to get it to work on my bike with its brazed-on seat clamp because it would either slip in the frame or be too tight to return correctly. Should work fine with a modern seatpost clamp.

After years of neglect I finally gave the hardtail a new headest. Then I course preceded to mess up the tape on my front wheel when swapping out the busted old front tyre for a fresh one. So now I have to re-do that whole thing and pray to the tubeless deities that’ll work out…

I stripped a new CN-HG701 chain and installed it with Flower Power.

I got about 1550 mi/2500 km on the old CN-HG701 with Squirt, exactly one year to the date.
