What did you do to your crosscheck today?

How else are you going to get all the spoke holes to seal, smart guy.

Luckily no sealant in the rim but the tire had so much sealant that it didn’t need air

what was the complaint that brought this in?
or did you just find it

He just wanted new tires installed

Why did he want new tires? Was he getting flats?

replaced the leaking GRX calipers with some hope rx4 on my wife’s bike
it’s been a struggle since day 1

now i found that the fluid reservoir diaphragm is popped and leaking on one of the levers (thanks shimano!!!) so i ordered another one of those

front brake is like over-bled or something, it’s ultra tight and just wants you to flip over the bars now.

what the FUCK

i am so goddamn over this shit it’s unreal. i’m gonna just put it away and deal with it another day.

either the bike is cursed or it’s a GRX thing. everyone i’ve talked to has nothing positive to say about the grx brake system

After much struggling to find my pedal wrench, I successfully installed my new 155mm nerd cranks (replacing 165mm) on the Endpoint over the weekend and took them for a spin this evening. The first 10 minutes were a bit strange and I am still not positive that I’ve got my saddle in the right spot anymore (raised up about 10mm), but they do feel pretty good.

My short legs should probably have been spinning 155s this whole time. It’s a very noticeable change in hip position in particular and the combination of my knees coming up 10mm less and my saddle being 10mm higher does feel like my knees are less up in my shit.

SQ do I like short cranks because of my beer belly?

which ones did you choose?

I ended up sticking with the Dixna La cranks. Same as I had in 165mm. I looked at some other options and everything else would have needed more other stuff (BB, chainrings, etc).

When I dropped 1cm in crank length I found I needed to fiddle with setback a little more than I expected.

In the end I went back to my fitter and had them double check my homework for the peace of mind.

I need to play with it a bit but didn’t want to change too many things at once. What did you end up having to do?

No idea. I think it went up and forward a little. I don’t think about fit and stuff I paid a fitter so I don’t have to think about it.

At the bottom of the stroke you’re not generating power so the fact the the saddle height got shorter doesn’t mean as much as that during the power phase around 3:00 you pedal has come back, closing your knee angle as well as bringing your knee further over your toes.

Moving your saddle up will open the knee back up and the saddle will move back some because of the seat angle. With the shorter crank at 6:00 you certainly have room to move it.

But since you’ve gained room at the top of the stroke, you can move more back to get a more balanced position, and being slightly lower at 6:00 helps people maintain control of the pedal which can help pelvic stability.

Moving back might need a shorter stem, though, so it’s a little more work to investigate than moving up and maybe adding a spacer.

Dammit, I accidentally edited instead of posted. Anyway, meant to post this in the other What did you do to you ____check today? thread.

less than a Katu from AliX. We’ll see what gets delivered!

Looks nice is that ā€œTour Quest Lifeā€?

It does look like it says Tour Quest Life. Hopefully decals aren’t under clearcoat.

it almost looks like the brand is ā€œidiotā€
do you have a link? i’m intrigued

AliX is so hard to post links from. And this one doesn’t even have a searchable name. Hopefully this works.

Seems like a pricing glitch on the chrome and raw ones, or maybe they just have too many? idk.

Looks like a pretty cromulent setup for the price.
