What did you do to your crosscheck today?

Is your daughter six feet tall? That bike looks like it would fit me!

5’7” long legs. It’s a Medium, 54tt. I thought it felt short reach. But she looks about right on it.

looks really nice, can’t believe it was an Ali bargain frame

Incredible things coming out of China rn. I love all the cranks that are 24mm spindle plus GXP chainring attachment. It’s like they just picked the 2 standards they liked best and went with it. The zoom mechanical disc brakes I’ve gotten actually work pretty well. I’d be fine if they did less knockoff stuff and more weird innovating.

24mm, gxp/direct mount, 155mm length, road/gravel q, not a boat anchor is the one I’ve been searching for

This one looks close but the spindle length is the question mark. A lot of them say road but then need a mtn bb with the spacers to make it 73, so then the q gets unnecessarily wide.
Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! $35.86 | CRUZbike Road Bike Crankset 155/160/165/170/172.5/175mm Crank 9/10/11/12 Speed Double Chainring with Bottom Bracket

Based on these Goldix ones I have on the Seabort being a true road spindle length, I would guess the above Cruz are also.

Rotor, but $$$.

yeah, this is ‘try short crank’ dithering without spending big money. I have an eBay alert for short Rotors set

The picture shows a 68mm shell and then 3 spacers, looks like they’re meant for a 73mm shell with 0-1 spacer.

I’m seeing that. I put them straight into an Ultegra bb and there’s no slack in it. :man_shrugging:

Oh wait he’s from the actual listing I bought

So if the non-splined portions 93mm and it worked with a 68mm bb, that would mean the non splined portion of the Cruz one above (98mm) corresponds to the length of a 73mm mtn bb.

Replaced a heavily used buzzy sp dyno hub that i thought was worn out or had an issue. Could feel a pretty strong vibration in the handlebars and there was an audible hum while riding. New sp hub feels the exact same. Great. At least I did a better job building the wheel than last time?

Definitely. Post and bars look real good.

I feel like SP hubs have a break in period. Hopefully that’s true in your case.

organizing small parts today with my partner. inherited this bin when the courier company closed and it had been disorganized from being in a shared shop for years. then spent two years in a shared bike room with a tinkering roommate who is not the most organized. doing it now in advance of moving into a new house because we figured if we moved with it, organizing it would be so low on the moving priority list that it would never happen

My small parts hoard is that disorganized and I’m the only one who touches it.

yeah, I give it a year or two before entropy takes over

I dropped off Snowaguchi at my fave shop for new wheels and brake pads. This will be the 4th set of wheels, having worn through the brake tracks of three others over the past 12 years.

I’m trying to count it all for this bike, and it’s difficult - I’ve broken a shifter, worn through one set of chainrings, broke one crank arm, wore out two saddles and at least three cassettes, and I don’t know how many chains, brake pads, and tires. And that’s not counting the parts I swapped out for preference reasons, like handlebars or stems.

Here’s the ‘before’ picture. Note the blackened brake tracks. I have a few aesthetic changes in mind for after the new wheels get built.

I want a few pairs of these after riding them on another guys bike at the track but that’s a hefty price tag.
