The 45north are way over complicated atmo
I gave mine away
i think i have some barmitts brand in my basement you can have. i will look for them
Really? Seems pretty basic? Maybe you have the more hardcore/cold ones?
i do have these. send me your address and be patient with shipping and you can have them @Smitty2k1
Were you the one I sent them to?
The ones I had were super not basic and attached via a weird foam block and a special end cap. They didnât play well with swept bars at all.
no i bought mine years ago and i ski when itâs cold now
Ordered some brake pads for the front of my old Shimano hydro bike because the front has ceased to do anything.
The new pads arrived. I just took the old pads out, cleaned the rotor with some alcohol and a clean paper towel. The old pads have a ton of life left, and⌠I just donât feel like putting new pads on this system only for it to contaminate them again. I feel like throwing this whole Shimano setup in the trash instead. Just sitting here in the garage at an impasse. Thoughts?
Have I told you about our lord and savior the TRP brake system?
Which ones? These are 2 piston xtr. Iâm honestly not sure if theyâre leaking. I stuck some paper between pad and piston and gave some mighty squeezes. No residue. But I am liking your theory about the fins on the rotor causing contamination. Maybe it is something about riding in the wet on roads? I donât think Iâve ever contaminated a pad on an off-road bike. Or perhaps running discs on a bike with fenders? These are on my old 650b rack and fender bike.
Or maybe theyâre glazed?
Anyway, I put new pads in and theyâre fine again⌠but for how long?!
i added this multipurpose strappy deck x computer holder x gopro mount thing
i donât care if it makes me look like captain dashboard, i like it.
Iâm always curious, whatâs the gopro footage for?
I know a guy who always rides with a six inch tall 360 degree camera right up on top of his helmet just in case he gets hit by a car.
short dopamine bursts mostly
I clicked the heart. Youâre welcome.
Iâve done so much dithering recently I havent time to document it, mostly. Left half of my lower head-set race in my bike while trying to extract it, ignoring a noise in my jockey wheel which resulted in a fairly catastrophic failure and realisation that I didnt consciously know that sram mostly use bearings in their jockey wheels, and shimano dont, which is pretty crap, considering the other things I crap on about in a âbikepacking resilienceâ scenario, even tho I have had several recent sram jockey wheel failures.
The other thing I always wondered about, but only tested, this morning, was the little red adjusters on the BB7sâ. Are they just adjusters or are they more? I seem to have lost a few of them over the years. The latest bike I converted to drops got some BB7s and it seemed like I had to adjust the adjuster after each ride. I put some âwhite-outâ on the tab (under where the missing red adjuster should sit) and on my commute this morning, noticed it had rotated at least 90 degrees. So yeah, they donât just adjust, they stop the adjuster from backing out on a 20 minute commute. I guess that should have been obvious.
Spent hours looking in the basement and garage for the remnants of 24 rolls of tubeless tape I bought in 2020. Did not find a single roll.
Taped my newly thoroughly cleaned rim with gorilla tape again, put in valve stem, put on tire, put in insert, mounted most of bead then threw in 3 oz of sealant, closed it up, thought âoh shit I didnât see if I mounted the tread in the correct orientationâ but I did. Did all of this in record time with no mess nor trouble.
And the wheel is leaking air from around the valve stem.
Fuck
My
Life
Guess Iâm doing it all again tomorrow.
The definition of insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting a different result.

I did the same thing but with side release buckles. Bought in bulk and subsequently misplaced the whole package.
Honestly the GT was great for several years, even swapping tires, where strapping style tape would have shredded. Cleaning the rim off to reapply was a huge hassle though. And I think my cardinal bonehead mistake was only doing one wrap at the valve stem.
Going to the LBS in a minute to get DT tape and new valves.
