What did you do to your crosscheck today?

Put a wolf toot 34 narrow wide on instead of the 32/bashguard/chain watcher and swapped the fancy carpet finer Brooks for the old Flite ti then rode it around, making sure to drop the seat and play around on things

Truly the greatest saddle ever

Put together Ira’s new woom. It’s V nice… but they set the brakes up with zero adjustment in the barrel adjusters… so after shortening the lever reach if I do t want the brakes to rub I need to re-do cable tension all together….

Have you tried just squeezing the lever with dad strength to just bed in the housing ferrules really well. You might be surprised how much cable slack that gets you on a brand new bike.

Have had to tweak some things on my kid’s cleary, kinda wish I had just sprung for the Woom instead

Over the weekend, I took the temporary 650b fenders off the disc trucker, cleaned off six months of winter and spring commuting grime, cleaned the bags, and installed a new set of VO 26" fenders (that were OOS when the bike was built).

Simultaneously happy/annoyed at how well that bike turned out.

I have like 9 projects like this lined up and no time to do it

Yeah, all the parts for my 1x1 wheel set have been sitting on my workbench for weeks. All my spare time and creative energy is being spent at the pottery studio these days. So a wheel set for a bike I’ll rarely ride is a low priority.

blessed my crosscheck with a new drivetrain, only about 2000 miles too late

  • New wolftooth n/w chainring to replace a very janky raceface one that was never round!
  • new kmc chain, so nice
  • new HG 11-34 9-speed cassette. i don’t love it but my knees know the ratios

so excited to commute on it tonight, i was feeling like a scrub creaking down the mup

That reminds me I need to work on my commuter.

Stole the 700c wheels from the carbon bike to put on the gunther ditherer. Rotors and cassette lined up with no brake or shift adjustments necessary! I win!!

Now I have to set up some other wheels on the carbon bike and sell it.

Sick endpoint.

Regularly riding the mtb. Hopefully fixed the awful noises I heard last ride.

No rain in the forecast for over a week so we decided it was time for the fenders to come off. Bikes look naked now.

I put @Rusty_Piton 's chairpole on. My tushy is happier.

Commuter had everything rust out or fall apart at once - so put on new mudguards, tires, and chain. Spent about an hour digging winter muck out of various crevices, including about a quarter of that picking away at the remnants of a plastic bag that had wrapped completely around a pulley wheel.

Kind of disappointed - I found some SKS mudguards locally dirt cheap, but they’re just not the same as the sleek metal ones I had on before with the black hardware. I just might splurge and get something nice again.

Looks way better on there than it did in my parts bin!

I took off the fenders and put on old mismatched 45mm tires instead of spending money.

Put some Pitlock skewers on a bike, went to record the key number, and discovered that I have two separate sets of Pitlocks bought from different places with the same key code ID. Now I have a spare key for my spare key.

I wonder what the chances of that are!
