Fuck! Missed my window (flew out Tuesday morning) and didn’t know you were visiting
Potential lake-effect snow forecast for the afternoon so last night I put panniers on the Jones for today’s commute. Turns out the sealant in that bike is 16 months and 1 week old. It’s probably fine.
i swapped the stem on my track bike from a 120 to a 75
do not recommend
I moved the cage spring spring to the higher tension hole on the R7000 RD on my dropbar hardtail and turns out it does make a difference. Can feel it in the shifting I think but quieter and seems like lower risk of chain drop. About what I expected, which is nice. Thinking it might be worth doing to all my un-clutched off-road RDs.
Example pic from internet because I forgot:
If you get lake effect snow off a salty lake, is it salty snow?

Snow that melts itself!
I had no idea this was an option. I haven’t had any problems with my R7000 dangler but I’ll keep this in mind for the future.
A hack from the olden days. These days we prefer the much more simple methods of narrow wide chain rings, specially machined cassettes and hydraulically damped derailleurs with clutches…….
I had a thing with an arm with a spring attached to the cage for a while
Is this supposed to be clutch?
Don’t fugn show this to Jan
OMG those cranks droool. I don’t think I ever even saw a set for sale in that gray/94bcd-way combo.
That’s the one
Got a deal on this NOS from Malaysia, going on the Sequoia
With this, I believe I’ve replaced every component on this bike except the headset. Still have all of the other 1983 OEM stuff in a box.
Finally soldered spades onto my light and wiring, and hooked up one of the two dynamos I’ve been putting off. Thankful there’s an EE lab at the office. Even got the shrink tubing on there.
