What did you do to your crosscheck today?

BB7s are [still] probably fine

Trimmed hoses and cables on the Emonda today. Bleeding went ok once I remembered to unscrew the check on the bleed valve. Front seemed to need it, rear didn’t other than the tube having been cut. Hopefully braking shudders less?

Anyway, I discovered an infuriating edge case while shortening the cables. Folding the hood forward to expose the cable entry causes the small lever action to stop because the hood blocks it. Absolutely insane. Took me until the second shifter to see what was up. It’s 2026 and these are still 80s prototype shifters, screw Shimano.

Rainy day challenge

Front tire seated and inflated with a hand pump, but props to Coco’s Variety for letting me use their compressor for the rear.

Decided I don’t want the colnago that I bought last year anymore, stripped the wheels and cockpit off it and replaced with the originals, hopefully to sell sometime soon.

Stripped the 6800 group off the trashbiek, installed mishmash 11sp campagnolo group and carbon wheels, plus cockpit off colnago.

Hoping to sell colnago, 6800 group, and pristine early 11sp Record group in the near future. Kinda wanna get a Riv Platypus.

Put the Suomi studded tires on the ATB.

Hoping to have a little fun outside, no huge workouts, just some enjoying the snowy scenery.

Everyone should get to experience a Riv couch at least once

Can anyone get me an accurate measurement of the fork offset kthx

I’m nearly 51 and I deserve a Riv couch.

The colnago is a very good bike but I found myself just never riding it. Steel roadie feels better in every situation except fast bunch rides but I never do those anymore.

Sounds like you need to get a Colnago V4 and do a fast bunch ride

But that’s the exact opposite of what I want to do

I want to wander on a whimsically named couch through the dry hills in the San Francisco bay area wearing frumpy MUSA gear and stopping occasionally for a coffee and a pastry or some tacos or something. A road bike is the wrong tool for the job.

Sounds like you need to find a Shogun Alpine

I already have a steel road bike, with dynamo and fenders. Why are you making these suggestions.

Finished swapping the mixed campy group and PUB wheels onto the Norco trashbiek. Needs a black seatpost.

Im nearly 65 and I just drove to the top of Mt Wellington in Hobart and was horrified to see an amazing trail down the hill that I could have ridden down, if I had a decent bike in Hobart… I think Hobarts weather suits me better than Sydneys…

Why did you not ask Blakey for a bike? I think he literally just left town, you missed your chance…

I really dont mind. I didnt come on holiday to ride my bike eh. It was about family and friends. @Eddbread nicely reached out to me to catch up in Melbs but the one actual chance I had for a ride, this friday, evaporated with a prediction of a 40 degree day. Screw that! I thought Blakey was in Melbs ! Back in Melbs tomoz.
