Found a dangler with a hole in it so might stick it on my tracklocross rig as a tensioner to give me a 2x1 setup. Got flustered flip-flopping my wheel at the bottom of my hill on my commute the other night. This thing is heavy. Kinda cute tho.

I’ve never seen these and I think that is a brilliant design. However, I’m wondering if it was such a great design it would have caught on. What am I missing?
Edit: I remember those cane creek ones but these seem like a better solution.

I’m hoping all of the ano bits without one matching color would make it wacky enough.

Same here! I assume the cost of a pulley versus a noodle drove these to extinction?
In the 90’s there was a lawsuit around someone who was paralyzed when their front brake cable snapped. The expert witness showed that the pulley underneath the stem had a radius that was smaller than called for by engineering standards. So maybe after making these brakes someone noticed andwas like “hey wait a minute, that might be a liability time bomb” and they stopped production.

Why did avid direct curve style not take over then? No noodle or pulley! Patents?
I remember hating on those when they were new and wish I had kept a pair.
Bought some ergon grips for it and rode gravel.
Grips are ga3 large. Spent a lot more time on them instead the inner bendy part of the bars. Usually not the case.

Moved some spacers from above the stem to below the stem, I’m really glad I didn’t cut the sterrer shorter!

Finally got the new wheels and G-One speed pros on the Jones over the weekend. They felt pretty good on the short test ride up and down the street. Even tho they’re 29 x 2.35 I thought they’d look comically undersized on the LWB but they look pretty okay atmo. Been sick and still dealing with back injury, so more recovery and a little more dithering on that bike is needed before I can really ride them.

I ensured that it’ll pour-ass rain tomorrow by putting a new chain and cassette on my bakfiets and swapping in a rear wheel with a fresh rim.
I’d assumed that the Ryde rim that I’ve been ryding all winter would have cracked eyelets but it looks good! Maybe the euros who recommended it to me were onto something!
