Ran cables, still need to adjust fit. Correct bb should be here tomorrow. I feel like different bars may be better in the future, but I like the flat top of these

Went to the local shop to drop some parts off. Thankfully guy took them so I don’t have to toss them.
Managed to find the perfect set of semi-abused bmx risers already cut down to hipster length for the new track bike. Feels good man.

I went for a ride with my kid today, first time having to work to stay with her rather than work not to drop her. It was really fun. The cut in my tire that I’ve been hoping will stay sealed did not stay sealed so I darted it. Not convinced it’s going to hold!
The new flat pedals felt much better but I still grabbed a used set of ATACs so I have options.

Dialed in the reach on my son’s balance bike brakes. One demerit against woom here. The brake on this thing is in no way short reach without some work. I put a length of brake housing* inside the lever to get it to sit closer to the bars. Poor guy is getting good at bmx style running stops though lol

Got the free Rockhopper functioning with minimal work and $0, the only thing I needed was a saddle so a trip to recycled cycles and some trade in parts got us up and running.
It had a brand new chain that was super long, cut it and swapped some better brake pads. Dry rotted tires got swapped for some bike mess Conti tires. After one round of PB blaster I can’t get the pedals off, so I hit them again. I have a threadless adapter so I’ll likely swap the bars at some point if my wife shows any interest in riding it.

It rained today so I did a bunch of futzing on bikes in the garage.
Ice Cream Truck got polished Ritchey bars replaced with sandblasted ones, and fake Paul levers replaced with parts bin Tektros before I try to sell it. Contemplated swapping tires, but fatty strippers tubeless and a sidewall plug dissuaded me of that idea.
Doublecross got a purple wolftooth topcap I got for Christmas from my son, along with purple wolftooth fat paw grips I picked up at a swap. It’s now approaching Pee Wee bike levels of specialness.
Added some tubeless fluid to some flat wheels that were dry inside. Cleaned up the bench. Nice day of not really accomplishing much of anything while futzing successfully.

I swapped out the Oveja Negra frame bag that didn’t fit quite right for a Swift giddy up and a bottle cage.
It feels wrong to buy a bike bag that was made overseas but it fits the bike and my needs.

I finally finished re-fitting fenders on my Jamis. Realized that I kind of screwed up the 52mm VO zeppelin ones making them fit over 45mm tires, so I went back to a set of 45mm to put over my road wheelset.
With refitting those ones I ended up having to remake all of the little brackets and spacers I had to make originally, since I modified the originals to work with bigger tires. Might have been my longest fender-fitting project ever, I think I ended up spending 5-6 hours on it over the last two days not counting the trip to Lowes & Home Depot for fasteners & materials.
Probably the best fenderlines I’ve ever had though.

Jamis is one of my favorite Tarck bikes and I usually wouldn’t expect to say that about a Jamis.
