Went to a bike show and won best fixed gear
Details and pictures.
Wanted to commute on a rear slick tomoz but couldnt be arsed changing the shitty cross tire. Found another wheel and put a spare new 10 speed cassette, and slick on it. Enjoyed the fact that my brifters [BAN] are friction, the wheel it replaced was 11 speed. HY!
Rode up and down my street and spied not 1, not 2… but 7 x 20 dollar bills lying in the middle of the road ! Knocked on the door of the next door flat. The girl that answered said. “Thats just the kind of dumb thing my sister would do”, she’d just come home. She went to the down stairs flat and banged on the door to summon her sister. Shrieks of delight.
The tarckbear works in mysterious ways.
Ordered a pair of Light Bicycle WR50 instead of buying a track bike that wouldn’t fit and that I’d strip of parts and rebuild and dither.
Not sure if I’ll just relace my Son/DT350/Belgiums or the Son/DT350/650 pubs
Rotated the Jones bars forward a wee bit and went for a ride. They were better but not quite right. Swapped a 5mm spacer under the stem and put a skinny little spacer above the stem when I got home, we’ll see if that gets it closer!
Haven’t seen any pics from it. I’ll get a good pic of the bike this weekend
Did a bmx training session and went slower than some 12-15 yo’s.
I have no feelings about that
Gonna put the grin kit on it
1x1 excitement
seat tube clamp anger
If there’s post in the tube, play ball?
Yeah, sometimes you gotta clamp a seat tube.
Today, in unforced errors:
Rear Ellipse on the track bike had a ton of drag. I put off dealing with it and finally started to tear apart the hub when suddenly it was fine. Turns out the Halo thread protector I screwed onto the other side is a perfect match for grabbing the dust cover. I guess hooray for an easy win?
I swapped tires on my coaster brake Stooge ahead of a big ATB/country bike weekender and dropped 3 pounds (!!!). It’s like the bike took Ozempic. Madness.
I put the crank from the plastic bike on the e-bike and put a plastic crank on the plastic bike and dropped over a lb
How do you like the dropper joystick thing?
I cant wait to see how that 1x1 builds up. I intentionally went super minimal when I built mine. It’s optimized for hopping off curb cuts and other low-impact shenanigans. Seems like you’re going full on eSupercommuter with yours.
I love the concept of the joystick. not sure if it really makes a difference in action .
I am putting the motor on the 1x1 with racks at both ends so I can put the bianchi back together as a curb hopper.
