New grips and shifter on the country road rambler.
Are you becoming rivendell
I’ll tell ya, these dia comp cantis sure ain’t what I’m used to wrt the brakes’ ability to stop the bike! Yeesh!
Put flat pedals on the bmx race bike. Got the cruiser as ready to race as it’ll ever be
Can’t stop; won’t stop
Futzed with the kid’s new bike a wee bit, seat up, bars down and rotated forward a wee bit. I think they’ll need a wee bit more futzing. Got the bottle cages and frame bag on, looks like she could fit a bigger bag on there. I wish I could actually ride the thing and see how it feels but alas I’m not clear to ride until the end of October.
I also need to put her clipless pedals on.
Refreshed the Jones drivetrain:
- Generic 34t x 0mm offset chainring (was 30t)
- Shimano CN-HG601-11 chain
- Shimano CS-M5100 cassette (11-51)
The chainring was a tad noisy at first, but it quieted down after 30 miles or so.
new cartridge into my dropper to restore functionalities and skinned an SLR for the bare carbon experience—it’s slippy!
Got given some Grand Bois Cypres a while back, finally got around to fitting them. Measure out to 32mm and ride just lovely. Had to take the fenders off but we’re heading into summer anyway. Data point: they’re 60g lighter each than the schwalbe one 28mm that were on there.
I rotated the tires on my mountain bike 180º. I got sick of seeing the ‘Schwalbe’ upside down next to the ‘Spank’ on the rim. Nobby Nic in Super Trail is a MASSIVE pain to get off the rim. Holy hell that bead.
Ugh - wanted to swap on some Challenge 4 Stagioni tires on Snowaguchi, and see they have a peak PSI of 45. Yeah, not clydesdale worthy. Back in the box to return them, back to the drawing board for a slick 38c.
thought you had low rider herbs for a moment
good things take time.
God damn I’m such a sucker for a thin tubed frame with a big old bulbous carbon fork.
This stupid fork has fucking RUINED me. I was perfectly happy with steel bikes but had to go and swing this thing around and decide to get a carbon fork, and then an aluminum and carbon cross bike. Now my steel bikes are giving me none of it. I should have thrown the stupid thing away 11 years ago when the frame cracked ![]()
if I ever come across a steel fork in the same weight ballpark as a carbon one I am in… until then I’m happy on cabron
