Fresh rubber and tire milk for the Jones
DQ: Could you just turn the cleats backwards for similar effect?
Thatās a good question, but sadly itās not one Iām going to be able to answer because aside from the three sets I bought all of my machines have non-clone Atacs on them.
by āflipā you mean put the right pedal body on the left spindle and vice versa, or something else? And youāre stepping into them with ATAC cleats installed normally?
Do the cleats that come with these work with ATAC if you install the cleats backwards?
Iām interested in details on this event
Yes & yes.
The US-B cleats install in the same direction as Atac cleats, at least according to the little instruction sheet that comes with the pedals. Theyāre basically the same cleats; the front latch might be a little more burly than the ones on genuine Atac cleats, but otherwise theyāre identical.
Thank you. That makes so much more sense than anything I had seen before. Everything else that I had read made it seem like the spindles were somehow making a difference and I couldnāt figure it out.
Rode home at night with only taillights. It was on a road I know that had some road lights so it couldāve been worse, but not something I want to repeat.
Converted my rear tire back to tubed. Schwalbe g one on dt r460 just dont work well together. 28mm tubed are faster anyways
I didnāt mind the white lowers before, but the black looks so much better. Needs some white decals though.
Itās probably getting some stealth type deal, or white.

I think white would really look good with the white frame decals.
but like. Just one decal. the rest could be stealth or not there.
I finally got my MKS US-B pedals installed (I flipped the spindles before installing). I didnāt find them to be that much more difficult to clip into compared to ATACs. I may have to play with the tension adjustment to increase it a bit as they felt a bit sloppy for my liking. Itās worth noting that I was using fairly worn ATAC cleats not the ones that came with the pedals.
Rode the basketbike and felt myself slipping into freddom so I wore lycra and got a top 5 and 6 on stravaĀ® segments. Disaster averted.
Same feels.
In a fairly dark time of my life, I used to go on long 1AM rides alone in the hills of Humboldt county without any front lights. It makes me feel a little sick to recall that experience and why I did itā¦
Iāll have another day or so of bikejocking, then probably some slow riding. Thereās something about wearing a kit that makes it feel weird riding slow.
I remember being broke and when bike lights really did suck absolutely riding around Boston at 1,2,3am with a dead rear blinky and no front light at all hoping the reflective strip on my mess bag would be enough. Its amazing how much better a $3 shipped usb taillight is versus a $35 superflash was not even 10 years ago.
