What did you do to your crosscheck today?

looks like they fixed the mistaken listing a long time ago, but there’s a vestigial title

Installed tabloid size wire inbox tray on orc rack. Perfectly sized for a large chrome bag.

I swapped the junk brakes on the sundeal with some BB7s that I’d pulled off the bikepacking bike. Funny that the smallness of this bike actually necessitates longer cables than my other bikes. The front brake barely fits without changing the housing. I dropped the bars a tad and did an alternative routing. Then I popped on some purple grips and put some old grips on the secondary bars.

Thanks to Moira for getting me some awesome pink cable ends when I went to Free Range today. Sorry for not officially saying hi. I knew I that I remembered you from somewhere but I didn’t remember where until I was leaving and I was too embarrassed to go back in and say hi.

Swapped tires on the crosscheck in preparation for maybe going on a group ride on Friday

Damn every time I see your Sundeal I regret selling mine, even though it was the right decision.

Do you have another saddle pack or two to stack under there? So much room!

…hybrid group ride?

I’m picturing a bunch of people in pleated khakis and gas station sunglasses fucking hammering a 30mph paceline

I don’t know really. Mixed east bay ride. About 30m and 3k feet of climbing which is more than I’ve done in a really long time. Its a shop ride for lucky duck. I’m on the fence. I’m really just a neighborhood cyclist these days. But at least it will be social.

oooh that mileage and climbage sounds a lot like you’re doing Tunnel-Skyline with a spicy dash of Redwood park in the middle.

One time I misapplied my good experience riding Redwood’s east ridge trail on my road bike to being able to ride literally any other dirt trail on my road bike. I almost knocked my fillings out on some boulders-and-washboard nightmare up in Tilden.

Its up tunnel via the goat trail, then through tilden to inspiration point, down to wildcat creek, up conlon trail, the back on the roads to solano and zacharys pizza. If it was tunnel to redwood I’d be confident. But I don’t like Tilden much and conlon sucks. Zacharys is enticing. Maybe I’ll just go there instead

That’s the ticket! Let all those other suckers wear themselves out on bikes while you get the pick of the pizzas!

Yeah why ride bikes when I can just lift weights and eat pizza
