Clean bikes are for reddit nerds wearing basketball shorts

Dirty bikes are for people who know what’s up

Are these the 2.1 or the 2.25?

I might be un-byway’ing my friendpoint soon.

Worked on rehabbing this silly little thing into something actually rideable. This is an intermediary form before putting gears and a dynamo on

I actually clean my bikes a little bit, but I love this anyway

After a good week of inverted soaking in a 50/50 mixture of acetone and fork oil I managed to unseize my CX bike’s seat-post. This was actually a PITA because that meant that I had to prep it for my buddy who is borrowing it in a gravel race in the weekend. That meant putting the tires back on it, replacing the rooted BB and crank, and converting it back from a 1x to a 2x . Headset seems notchy as hell too but DGAF. Will put a front derailer on it and recable the left shitter tonight. Man I hate sticking the cables into SRAM shitters.

Hastily glued a cable stop to a canti frame I found on the footpath some time ago.

Then readied it for child portaging (responsible parenting, what’s that?)

Just in case you were worried my bikes might be getting less horrible with time :grinning:

Based on this example, naw.

I put my fancy wheels on. HED Belgium+ with 28mm Corsas are a hoot.

On the other hand, the brake tracks are practically nonexistent on these rims. Like I’m still not convinced I didn’t get some accidentally polished disc rims. I know people said they wore out fast but I didn’t know why until now.

I put an 11$ combo chainring/bashguard thing on my commuter. It’s way nicer than it has any right to be.

How can a 45T chainring be narrow-wide? I thought only even-teethed counts can be n/w?

It’s not narrow wide. The listing lies. The picture tells all.

The teeth are both narrow and wide until the chain collapses the probability wave function. This is the real area 51 technology :grinning:

The quantum chainring.

Bent back the bashguard with chain guide after my borked collarbone.
I think I have it good enough. But it lost the plastic coating inside (I have one half of it). Will try to run it when I get back aboard it. Fucking lol at their costs for replacement parts: $30 for chain guide, and $75 for backplate that was bent. Like, yo, you realize OneUp does the whole deal for $80 reatail (chainguide, bash guard).

Changed tires on the OPENUPYOURCHEQUEBOOKTOOTHELORD for the 4th time in 3 weeks. Rambers to Barlow Pass to CX tires to Barlow Pass and back to Ramblers for a lunch time ride with a couple of workmates.
