please do not shop at urban outfitters. They have given lots of money to prolife, homosphobic republican senators (who are also down with the idea of replacing the constitution with the ten commandments). Just go to a thrift store, and find something that looks damn near the same.
Seriously! Brands don’t mean shit to me when it comes to clothes. If i find a good deal on something I’ll buy it. (after checking the quality and what not of the item)
I don’t understand why some stores have regular T-shirts for like $25 and a polo shirt for $55…

not doubting, but can you link some sources on that shit?
I’m interested to read.
ha, i know both those guys. hung out with them last night. i can see how a bunch of you are going to make fun of them from this picture, but i like them.
edit: not sure about dude on right, but i’m pretty sure the other guy got his shit at thrift stores and has been rocking it for a while, his pants are patched up, his flannel looks like he’s worn it for ages, his work bike isn’t a “cool” bike, it’s a mountain bike with slicks and a cetma and he lives in a van so he can travel and be at home. punk kid, not at all an urban outfitters shopping hipster type. good dude, messed in the '00s.

The reason for me to not shop at urban is because of how many times they have ripped off other designers in very blatant ways. That being said, i rock a lot of the stuff you see at urban, tiger onitsuka, levi jeans, vans shoes, republic bikes.
whoa, I’ve generally avoided the store because its mad pricey, thats good to know though.
sorry but 1,3000 USD isn’t all that much money to further the cause of anything. If you are going to boycott all companies that support mainstream conservative views I think you’d pretty much be a homeless naked man starving to death in the US.

as far as I know goodwill is pretty ok.
and I think there are plenty of companies that don’t support openly homophobic, bigoted and misinformed politicians.
Intelligent design? really?

yes i agree that urban is totally disgusting. They sell a image of cool to clueless kids that want to fit in. Totally exploiting youth culture for what it is worth. But to say their buyers are dumb is not true. I think as far as co-oping youth culture they do a spot on job. It is a very smart company run by people that are very aware of whats going on. I remember looking at the urban mix cds and being surprised/impressed that they included a lot of underground electronic musicians. And the books? They have some really fun stuff in there, fruits, a buncha banksy books. And come on, who doesn’t wear vans, levi? I’m sure everyone here can go in there and find something they like. And because they have this type of scale they can undercut every store and sell the same things at such low prices. I have bought converse, vans and a triple 5 coat there. I apologize.
But my point is to say, they are scary not because they stock dochey stuff there, but because they stock some stuff that i actually want to wear and books/cameras/misc shit i actually wanna buy.
I want to like their clothes because I actually enjoy wearing stuff that fits (which I think they sell), but all the shirts are the faux-thrift store stuff I cannot stand, and the pants are too tight to fit around my massive quads.

No undercutting going on at Urban. Mark-up on vans. Mark-up on Nikes. Full MSRP on Levis. I could go on…
Who the fuck actually buys cameras and books from urban outfitters. That place can suck my balls. I hate the trash that hangs out/works at the urban outfitters here.
